Hosted another game night and made a pretty good spread. Lasagna soup, pesto ricotta, and pecan shortbread cookies. All vegan. My wife did most of the cooking this time. The soup was really good, and I am glad we have a lot of leftovers.

I forget the name of this style of Japanese knife. It is only beveled on one side, and completely flat on the other. It is very hard to use because it you have to really work to keep the cut straight. However, you can use it to cut stuff paper thin because of that flat side.

The Shun knives in the background are pretty, but expensive and honestly not great. This $37 Shi Ba Zi Zou Chinese cleaver is awesome though.

Last weekend I made was Massaman curry and a vegan curry. The vegan curry needed more spices in it, in my opinion, but everyone thought it was good. I’ll experiment with the recipe in the future.

I have been hosting a board game night every other weekend and cooking large amounts food for everyone. My old pots were a little small so a splurged and bought a very nice All-Clad 12 quart pot for making large batches of curry and such.

My finger nail finally fell off. The new one is about half grown in. Now to baby it and have it grow in nice and pretty. Hopefully I never have to do this again.
