I'd love to hear what you think could be going on here. If you don't mind, I'd really like to get something to eat. It's been a while since I've eaten. I could also use a good cup of coffee.

I look into unusual things. [It was true that he was looking for the story behind what was happening. He also found things like this interesting, and he looked into unusual things all the time. So, most of what he told her was true.] --

Nice to meet you, Chandra. I'm Sam Winchester. I'd really like to see the pictures. I have just arrived in town and haven't seen anything yet. I am looking into it to see if there is some sort of story here. It is probably nothing, but I found the whole thing interesting. --

It also hadn't escaped him that she said the ones that weren't too decomposed. His lips curved upward into a small smile before taking a seat in the seat across from her.] --

As she told him what she did, he was even more surprised, but he kept it from showing on his features. He thought it was a supernatural case, but he didn't think she was imagining that at all. She seemed oblivious to the real things that this could be caused by. --

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 23h

As she started speaking, it seemed like she was about to say case, but at the very last second changed it to the word anomaly. He couldn't imagine what kind of case she thought this could be. --

Pictures he knew would disturb most people who passed by and saw them. He saw the slight shock on her face as she looked up at him. He knew she had not been expecting him or his response. --

[Sam had noticed before she looked up at him that her food had been sitting quite a while, but her coffee was fresh. He was super hungry, but that was slipping from his mind a little. He was focused on the woman and the pictures in front of her on the table. --

Excuse me. Are those pictures of the dead animals I've been hearing about?

He had thought he'd have to go in search himself but here was someone who could save him time in his search. He stopped beside her. His voice was soft. He decided before she even spoke that he'd pass himself as a journalist. A cover he hadn't used in a very long time.] --

A bell above the door to signal someone's entrance or exit. He glanced around the diner. As he walked he saw a woman sitting at one of the tables staring at pictures. He glanced down as he was about to pass. To his surprise it was pictures of the dead animals. He had no expected it. --

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

He then climbed out shutting his door behind him. He strolled through the parking lot to the diner door. He wrapped his fingers around the handle pulling the door open. The familiar sound of a bell chiming above the door almost brought a smile to his lips. It was the same at every diner. --

Before anything he needed something to eat. He had been driving for six hours without food. He drove through the town until he saw a diner. He drove into the parking lot pulling into a slot between two trucks. He turned the key in the ignition to turn off his car. --

He was hoping Dean was right and it was nothing. He told Dean that he'd be gone a week. Sam had his own car full of weapons from his time alone. Sam drove to the small town of Lily Dale, New York. When he passed the sign letting him know he entered the town he knew he needed to find out more. --

If there was enough dark magic being done in the area is would cause a disturbance in nature. If it was a witch that would mean they were doing an ancient powerful spell or possibly holding a demon hostage. He did not want to think of the possibilities. --

100

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Sam knew that Dean would never agree to going. He'd say it was stupid but Sam wasn't going to let it go. He needed to make sure it wasn't supernatural. From reports of dead animals and animals getting gutted he was leaning towards witches being the issue. It'd make sense. --

100

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Dean told Sam it was nothing supernatural about it and to look for a real case. Sam wasn't so sure. He couldn't be positive but something was off and Sam knew it. It could be demons, ghosts, spirits, or witches using dark magic and causing the animals to change their behaviors. --

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

To most people they wouldn't assume anything of it. Just that maybe something was in their territory that was causing them to be restless. But on top of wildlife being agressive and killing people. There were also animals found completely gutted or what looked like someone killed them. --

100

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

[Sam had been hearing of multiple mentions of wildlife acting differently. Things that were normally docile or animals that did not normally attack without reason were now agressive. People in the woods being attacked by dear, bears, mountain lions, snakes and many other things. --

[Sam paid for his coffee before taking his coffee from the barista and heading to a table in the corner where he could observe the whole cafe. He felt eyes on him and he glanced in the direction of a man sitting at a table. Sam wasn't sure why the guy was staring.]

It is clear that they are all different and yours are better than mine here. You may be a demon and I am meant to hate you but I don't. You aren't evil like other demons. I didn't know that that was your job in hell. Yes, I'm not surprised you were kept in the dark.

011

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Lucifer torturing him was obviously something that not everyone needed to know. He hadn't known what her job for Lucifer was.] You are right that I was royally screwed over by my Lucifer. I do not hold your good relationships with other Lucifer's against you. --

100

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Not All Lucifer's were the same apparently so he wasn't going to hold it against her. She was a demon but he didn't hate her even if he was supposed to. She was different than other demons. Had more kindness in her than other demons. It made sense she was kept in the dark. --

You are right that I don't understand your life or go through what you do. I can't imagine being hunted and here I am being the one that wanted to hunt you when I first came across you. I get being loyal to him. He was there for you when no one else was. --

100

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

He got loyalty and even after being punished the fact that Lucifer had welcomed her with open arms meant no matter what she would be loyal to him which was understandable. Her Lucifer's definitely didn't seem as evil as his own.] --

100

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

He wasn't surprised that she was disobedient and refused to listen to Lucifer. It just seemed to be in her nature from what Sam could see. The fact that he punished her was also not surprising. --

100

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

She was hunted by people like himself and was looked on as being lower than everyone else. Sam had never really thought what it would be like to be hunted just for being who you were. The fact that there were Lucifer's out there that weren't as evil as the one Sam knew. --

100

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

[Sam could tell that Róta was out of it. That she wasn't fully paying attention. She at least got Lucifer here was different. Of course, Sam only knew about his Lucifer. The demoness was right that he had no clue what it was like to be her. --

He was the epitome of evil. He was the worst of the worst. There was a sharpened and angered tone to his voice as he spoke.] Lucifer is not misunderstood. He is pure evil and I should know. I was locked in a cage with him for months. When I came back it pretty much killed me. --

100

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

It had almost completely destroyed him. As she said that she thought Lucifer was gravely misunderstood and that she adored Lucifer angered Sam. How could she honestly think that Lucifer could be misunderstood when he literally got locked in a cage with an angry Lucifer. --

Sam Winchester @devilsinheritor.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

He knew from what she told him that universe hopping drained her energy. He wasn't sure how much of what he was saying was registering for her. He was discussing Lucifer and how he was truly the devil. That he had been used and abused by Lucifer. Stuck in a cage for months with Lucifer. --

[Sam Winchester was a supernatural hunter who was not one to trust demons. He had only ever trusted Ruby until Róta came along. Róta hadn't proven trustworthy. He still was careful around her but the more time he spent with her the more he relaxed around her. --
