wouldn't be an 'oomph'/punch to the gut feeling to it. practical tip: you have to start reading your own stories obsessively and think about your own writing habits (heaven knows how many times i reread dtass/tff lol) and what effect u want to have that was/was not brought across. hope this helps 🫶

tldr there really isn't a one-size-fits-all/formulaic way of constructing narratives, it gets easier when you get used to your own writing style + think through what you're trying to express as well as the themes/titles/metaphors/symbols you're going to use in the specific story, otherwise there
