iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

This Goddamn Thing happened again like three times during my stream tonight No utilization of the CUDA core, no unusual activity from anything except for the 3D usage, which spiked up to 100% and didn't drop until I closed the game every time

I turned it off when I got this new PC immediately, but of course, Windows refuses to respect a user’s agency

110

Reyrey ✨ @devilreyrey.bsky.social · 21h

Ohp, looks like HAGS turned itself back on at some point which forbids me from seeing these (thanks Windows), I'll switch that off and keep an eye on these processes throughout tonight's stream, thanks.

110

Reyrey ✨ @devilreyrey.bsky.social · 22h

I've changed drivers twice since this started happening (late 2025) and nothing seems to make a difference

130

Reyrey ✨ @devilreyrey.bsky.social · 22h

Like, it's taken me a long time to figure this out, but it's consistently physics interactions that trigger it! Doesn't happen with other encoders (like the AMD HW x264 encoder I've been using since RE9 came out), just NVENC! VRAM isn't maxed out, GPU/CPU usage aren't maxed out, plenty of RAM left!

120

Reyrey ✨ @devilreyrey.bsky.social · 22h

Facts of the thing: 1) ONLY while using NVENC, always streaming, never recording 2) Plenty of performance overhead left (20%+ left on CPU/GPU) 3) There's a moment where a physics interaction happens, then the encoder redlines to 100% and I lose almost every single frame until I restart the stream

120

Reyrey ✨ @devilreyrey.bsky.social · 22h

So I don't know if anybody else has run into this problem, but the WEIRDEST thing keeps happening with OBS and NVENC while streaming. Never recording, JUST streaming, and only with NVENC! -->

Oops, forgot alt-text (my phone doesn't allow me to use the warning setting for some reason.) ALT: A cream-colored typewriter with rounded keys and a Bakelite plastic shell, viewed at a slight angle.

I have an old Smith-Corona Corsair, a portable student model made for reliability and cost-effectiveness! A couple of the teeth need tuning but otherwise it works fantastically, I only had to switch out the dry black ink ribbon for a dual color so the switch would still be useful

As one might imagine, I am DEEPLY fucking disappointed to learn about the stuff that came out about That Guy that I used to look up to. Just goes to show you, I guess... any dude can be an abuser, you don't always get a visible red flag when rape culture is so overpoweringly pervasive.

Keep your skills. Keep your creativity. Keep your humanity. When their golden idol comes crashing down, there will be lots of people revealing just how much they were willing to trade away their cognition for easy cash or hopping on a bandwagon.

Don't listen to anyone who tries to lump in the current paradigm of water-polluting, book-shredding LL(M)s in with all other mach!n3-learning. They're extremely distinct technological applications. They're either ignorant or they're trying to profit off of you. Or both.

1) The thieving slop machine will fail. All of it. The whole industry. 2) That will hurt all of us a good bit. But we'll be better off with it gone. Lancing the wound. Revel in its death. 3) Bespoke m4ch!ne-learning (ciphered to prevent searching) tools aren't going away, and generally shouldn't.

Hi I'm Rey I have very strong opinions on horror.

040

Reyrey ✨ @devilreyrey.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Sorry not sorry, "it's aliens" is a pet peeve for me at this point, I have become completely incapable of finding them scary and the insistence some folks have on classifying every horror thing as "so aliens did it for sure" DRIVES ME UP A GODDAMN WALL

Me, watching a YouTuber I haven't watched before analyzing the writing of horror stuff: 👀 That YouTuber, bafflingly, so goddamn often: "So it's definitely aliens with UFOs which is super scary" Me: *closes the tab, writes off the channel forever*

020

Reyrey ✨ @devilreyrey.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Make no mistake, it is absolutely an action game! Half of your time will be spent fighting It's the fighting part that's not clicking with a lot of people, it seems. They want something the game isn't trying to be and don't fully engage with the power or status mechanics.

010

Reyrey ✨ @devilreyrey.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Dramatized readings of your writing that you just put up and go "yeah make a video or animatic about this or something, just credit me, it's all good"? Works for some people
