I'm continuing onward with Fujita's works. I really like the feel of his stuff so far. Karakuri Circus is next! I'm gonna read his works in order so I can watch him evolve as a mangaka.

Finished Ushio & Tora this morning! Genuinely might be one of my absolute favorite shonen manga of all time. Beautifully sweet. Some of the best character development I've ever seen in a manga. Ushio Aotsuki IS my son.

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Safe to say Shigure Aotsuki is the best dad in shonen.

The Crows x Worst universe is one of my absolute favorites and Crows specifically means genuinely so much to me. I push it to basically every friend I have because I genuinely consider it perfect.

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

I'll take every chance I get to plug Crows. It's the greatest manga of all time.

010

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

People who feel like this should read Crows. 96 chapters, basically all fights and it's got so much substance it'll make you think about your life.

Next up for my read list, I'm gonna run through Kazuhiro Fujita's works starting with Ushio and Tora!

Also finished Switch by Atsushi Namikiri, another basketball manga that was fine at best. Nothing stellar but it's highs were incredible. His other manga, Red Blue, which is about MMA, is vastly better. You can tell he cares more about martial arts than he did basketball.

Caught up on REAL and it's still as stellar as I remember. The most I've teared up and cried reading a manga in awhile. Genuinely one of the best sports manga of all time.

Please help my friend Sable if you can!

I forgot Bebop isn't really inter connected stories and is kinda boring so instead I'm gonna reread what I already had and catch up on what I hadn't for REAL. For the unknowing, Sports manga is like, top 5 genres for me.

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

Since I've been putting it off for like 10 million years I'm finally gonna continue and catch up on Bebop High School.

Just finished My Home Hero. An incredible crime thriller about a father who goes to the extremes to protect his family. It carries a good message about the value of life, perception of those who do illegal or bad things, and the struggles that come with the cycle of revenge. Beautiful manga.

Seeing the final chapter of Rokudenashi Blues finally get translated feels so euphoric, man. Genuinely such a wonderful manga that I'm glad I got to see end.

The fact I want to learn MORE about Tokiyuki Hojo is proof the manga was good. I want to legit read into that period further and learn more about it and see places from it in real life. He did something amazing here.

Yusei Matsui, you're a stellar mangaka... Elusive Samurai was extremely fun. Covering a lesser known part of Japanese history and weaving great comedy together with beautiful storytelling made for a great read. Sadamune Ogasawara may be one of the coolest historical men ever.

Man I already wanted to fuck the ghost they didn't have to do this.

Like just give him fat tits that are just OUT who cares

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 13/05/2026

Liquid Snake should have boobs but still never put a shirt on. I think that would be a genuine character design upgrade for him.

It's gotta suck to be the "normal guy" in a grail war.

010

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 30/04/2026

Like sure, I get these guys are gonna die, historical drama, it happens, but is that gonna stop me from loving seeing their progression and how enjoyable they are as characters? Hell no. It's great. Matsui is proving yet again he's a good mangaka.

000

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 30/04/2026

Elusive Samurai has been a lot of fun so far. Mixing a historical lesson with genuinely great comedy is really smart cuz it makes me care more about these figures. So far Shoken and Sadamune have been standouts among the antagonists. Always a mark of good writing when I can root for villains.

I actually really like the marshmallow ones. Haven't tried the strawberry ones tho.

And so... I close the curtains on Soul Eater. What a manga. Genuinely such an enjoyable time. It held up to every expectation I had and even slammed some of them beyond what I expected. It felt great to read something I used to love and still love it.

000

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 26/03/2026

Joke aside I've really been enjoying my re-read. Nostalgia might be a major factor but I'm liking it a lot more than Fire Force.

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 18/03/2026

I think if an Uber driver accepts my ride and then sits there for more than 10 minutes and never comes to pick me up I should be allowed to hit a button that automatically explodes their car. This is not a serious post, just very annoyed right now :)

110

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 17/03/2026

I really enjoyed Fire Force but so far I think at least in terms of tone, I do like Soul Eater more. Maybe it's because I've got nostalgia for it since it was one of my first anime I got really into? There's just a goofiness to it I really enjoy.

010

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 11/03/2026

I will now be re-reading Soul Eater!

010

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 11/03/2026

Finished Fire Force today! While I have my gripes with some stuff, it was overall a great time. It's straight up just popcorn Hopecore ass shonen and it's awesome.

There's for certain those that won't agree with me but I genuinely feel Choujin X may sit in a "greatest manga of all time" seat for me. Like if I had to set up a roundtable of unmatched manga, it would be there. I just need him to really and truly stick the landing with this.

000

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 19/02/2026

Chadley WOULD do the 6-7 thing tho. It's entirely on brand.

010

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 18/02/2026

Caught up with Shiori Experience, might genuinely be one of the greatest manga I've ever read.

000

Bridget Brown @devilmanbridgie.bsky.social · 16/02/2026

This is from Gundam Hathaway, which you shouldn't watch until you've seen at least 0079, Zeta, ZZ, and Char's Counterattack
