Yesterday I learnt that the father of Yvonne De Carlo (known for her role as Lily Munster) was born in #Aotearoa/NZ. William Middleton went abroad as young man, was a travelling salesman, met & married Maria De Carlo. (anecdotal evidence suggests he may have been part Māori) #AoNZhistory #🖤munsters

This past week, i discovered the author Andrea K Höst @autumnwriter.bsky.social (yay for Kobo plus for finding & suggesting authors whom I've never heard of 🥰). The 2 books I've read so far impressed me with the strong female MCs & eclectic WB. Will b reading more #selfpublished #booksky

Seen in #newtown in #whanganui-o-tara, a diorama, with Death sitting on a red sofa, behind him a wreath with RIP Ozzy. Love the small details, a welcome mat, bat on wreath, the carafe of alcohol, a guitar between couch & a small glasstop table with lines of "cocaine".

NGL, at this current time & with MPs causing social division & wanting to sell Aotearoa NZ to the highest bidders, I can get behind this meme. #nzpol #internationalpol #ritualsacrife

picture of "Aztec" priest armed with a dagger whilst a man lies on his back, waiting to be sacrificed.
Text above pic says "With the world in disarray, I believe now is the time we honour Indigenous cultures.
Text under pic: By sacrificing politicians to a Sun God. Whether it works or not. I see no downside to the plan.

2 weeks after fall, knee is lovely hues of purples and violet

swelling slightly down. dark purples and yellow

Very swollen knee - lovely shades of black, purple and red.

35% read - God of Small Affairs by @OlgaWerby for #SPSFC3 & #teamspacegirls I'm hoping this will be a mix of SFF & I'm saying Y to moving it forward to phase 2 as the plot and prose is very strong. Whether or not it goes forward will be announced by our team leader.

30% read of To Climates Unknown number by Arturo Serrano for #SPSFC3 & #teamspacegirls Though an intriguing plot this read like an Alternate History rather than anything SFF. Sadly I won't be moving it forward in the comp but will be reading it at a future date. 📚🚀

N°3 cut - The Brangus Rebellion by R. R Corvi for #SPSFC3 and #spacegirls. The Prologue was great but unfortunately the rest of the story didn't quite deliver. My review can be found on Goodreads. It is still in the running as I am only 1 judge, other's opinions may vary.
