A Hong Kong lawmaker delivered what many viewers described as a “mic-drop” speech at the United Nations Human Rights Council.During the heated discussion over human rights and Hong Kong, he pushed back against criticism of the city and China, arguing that international discussions about Hong Kong often ignore the broader context and the views of people who support the current direction of the city.Rather than giving a carefully worded diplomatic answer, the lawmaker delivered a blunt response, directly challenging the accusations being made against Hong Kong and turning the speech into one of the more dramatic moments of the session. The clip quickly spread online, with viewers on both sides of the political debate arguing over whether his speech was a powerful defense of Hong Kong or simply political theatre. What do you think: was this a powerful response or just political performance?Follow @scrollasia for more reels like this!#HongKong #China #UnitedNations #UN #HumanRights #Politics #InternationalRelations #Asia #WorldNews #ScrollAsiaView all 1,303 comments
