Another one of my favorite games, and the one I've put hundreds of hours into across multiple playthroughs... Alongside a shit ton of mods (as you can see lmao) #Fallout4 #VirtualPhotography

Any time I feel weird for doing things, there’s always a post to remind me that I’m not alone lmao

For me, it was both Super Mario All-Stars and Donkey Kong Country 2. It was 1998. I was 4 years old, watching my cousin play his SNES on grandma’s tiny CRT. Watching him blast through those games was magical to young Dev. He even taught me how to get the two warp whistles in SMB3’s first world. ✨

Quick Nintendo Direct Thoughts: - holy FUCK NEW KIRBY YAAAS - SNES tracks being playable in MK World is great but should've been base game tbh - I've never played a single Metroid game longer than 5 minutes so I have no idea when Samus became *vaguely gestures* this???? it's kind of a slay though

And here's some more overworlds done this year, featuring my takes on the 2020 Gigaleak/Beta Overworld, the Super Demo World: The Legend Continues overworld (one of the first-ever custom overworlds in the scene), and a modernized, remixed version of the original Dinosaur Land!

I've also done a "Fan Art" series, recreating various iconic overworlds in my own style. You can see how my staple tileset has evolved over the years, heh.

One of the coolest and most validating things that happened in recent years is that people started finding my work worth commissioning. I got to work on unique overworlds for so many different people! <3

I've taken part in many overworld contests throughout SMW Central's history. A fun fact, the 2021 contest map was a full reimagining of my 2009 contest map, sort of a poetic or grand return type of thing, given I stepped away from the craft between 2014-2021.

Hey there! For those unfamiliar, I'm Devazure (Dev for short). I'm a longtime member of SMW Central (20 years this year!) One of my favorite hobbies is designing Super Mario World overworld maps. Here's a glimpse at my journey, with my first-ever OW alongside a remake I made this year (2006-2026).
