I think the problem with GoT is that a lot of what made the early episodes good was this looming future threat. Once you know that is stupid it really ruins a lot of the earlier seasons.

HIMYM and Community are so good in the first few seasons and because the episodes are (mostly) self contained you can still rewatch without it being ruined by the ending

Yeah I will never rewatch GoT because the later seasons were so terrible. Battlestar also was ruined by later seasons but the first two seasons are so good that I would still watch them

I don't think it's falling for it so much as recognizing that of that's what he's doing then it also means that there will be some doubt. That doesn't really make him less bad, he can do that on his own

I think we need to also evaluate claims based on truth and not just vibes. Uncertainty is real and rejecting a stronger claim doesn't mean endorsing it. My opinion of Vance or Yarvin really has no dependence on their connection

Yeah it's claimed from a bunch of different sources but no one actually links to the claim. Most of it seems to be due to his being plugged into to right wing subcultures and expressing some similar beliefs. Yarvin claims he isn't a big influence on Vance
