Irises symbolize hope, valor, and wisdom. Ophelia’s story is focused on hope… what it means to live another day.. But also i saw it can symbolize rebirth? And ophelia died but was revived by a magic item so i thought it fit heheh

In his grief, he says yes. Because he thinks at the moment that a shadow of her is better than nothing of her. When edgemond sees ophelia in this time, he’s happy. This is all he wanted. Even if she glared at him, swung her lance at him, cursed him, Edgemond is just happy to see her for who she is

Edgemond is a result of time travel shenanigans. Ophelia died with no chance of revival in his time, so naturally, he joins the forces of evil to bring her back. The way it’s presented to him is that a “perfected” version of her will be there for him.
