Today I used the Amazon app to try and search for products that help radial tunnel syndrome. Instead of search results, I was given an AI response for what RTS is. This idiotic nonsensical feature is frustratingly annoying in the Instagram app, and even more so in the Amazon app.

Another way films “convert” viewers to a way of thinking is reframing a story to empathize with the villain. Oppenheimer, Extremely Wicked, Wolf of Wall Street, The Social Network, etc. Even if a director’s intention was something else, what matters is the message the audience comes away with.

Prop 14 (SJR 3) – would lock $3 billion into a permanent state fund to research Alzheimer’s and dementia, ensuring the money can’t be used for anything else. Texas does this only for a few big issues it considers urgent - cancer in 2007, water supply in 2023, and now, aging and dementia.

Schools lose that funding, teachers are paid less, and districts are forced to close schools. The state always says it will replace the money lost, but it never makes up the difference. It just keeps shrinking the pool of money schools rely on.

Prop 13 (SJR 2) – would raise the school tax break that homeowners get on their primary residence. Right now, schools don’t charge taxes on the first $100,000 of your home’s value. This prop would raise that to $140,000. It sounds good to have lower taxes on homeowners, but there’s a catch.

There is no income limit on this, which means retired millionaires will get the same tax break as a widow living on social security. If they want to help those in need, they should specifically target the most vulnerable. Not an entire age bracket.

Prop 11 targets school taxes only. In areas with more seniors, public school funding will shrink significantly. It's a recipe for a less educated younger generation. Those w/children (who are financially able) will move to better districts, with less senior citizens. Poorer families will be stuck.
