40 years ago, I thought dumbing down the public was a conspiracy theory. Now we see the rotten fruit that the right wing project has produced.

Hmm. I have seldom read any rational thoughtful argument from Thomas or Alioto in Supreme Court decisions. They are so preposterous, the court had to come up with a "shadow docket" so their opinions would not be subject to ridicule.

The Star Thrower collection by Loren Eiseley. Interesting idiosyncratic perspectives on the natural world.

Republicans and the Trump mafia are concerned Trump will die before issuing pardons.

Private Equity firms ruined a few excellent companies I worked at, both financially and culturally. This is the next step in ruining professional sports, especially since teams are now seen as investments by owners and fans are the suckers (who pay 23 bucks a beer)

That all started when the bean counters decided news had to be a standalone profit center. It is cheaper to have happy talk and faux controversy drivel rather than foreign desks and correspondents. When real news clips appeared in fictional movies, so began the blurring of fact and fiction.

The Democratic party got in trouble by listening to the many idiotic consultants rather than listening to the voters. The consultants forget they only get only one vote each, just like the rest of us, but their numbskull candidate advice costs many votes.

If the democrats don't seriously lean into (ie spend money on ads etc) permanently tarnishing the republican brand now when the electorate feels that way, they will have missed a generational opportunity.

The democrats (not the worthless DNC) need to systematically tarnish the Republican brand. This carries over from election to election. It is not that the Republicans have great candidates , it's that they have tarnished the Democratic brand for 45 years, with no push back.
