Life has been very loud and I haven't been drawing much again. Today I doodled something cute and cozy to help. ❤️ Boop! I hope everyone is doing alright and making some time to do something you love! #Art #WIP #Soko #Shadic #SonicOC #SonicArtists

Rough sketch of Soko (drawn in green) and Shadic (drawn in purple). They are sitting with their backs to the camera, eyes closed and leaning towards each other to touch noses. Both have a smile on their face, and he has to curl down while she has to stretch up to reach. His hand is resting on hers between them. Just a cute and peaceful moment between them.

I collect pins, and added a few new ones from the Sonic 35th anniversary blind bag collection! Happy with this selection, they are so sparkly and pretty! Also happy that I didn't get duplicates. The amount of times I get all the same thing from these bags... Dunno what that says about my luck. 😅

Sonic, Knuckles, and Amy pins to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Sonic. Each one has the seven Chaos Emeralds surrounding the characters, with sparkly backgrounds and the anniversary emblem at the bottom. Solid metal and could be used for home defense. XD

My dad's Genesis! ^_^ Except we didn't have the normal controller for it for some reason. So I played Sonic 1 and 2 on something like this, haha! Fun memories of trying to get it to work, the connections were very picky. 😅

SEGA Genesis Arcade Power Stick. A joystick on the left with A, B, and C buttons on the right. Big and chonky.

GUYS! Look what I won on the boardwalk!!! 🥰 I gave one of the carnival games a try, and on my very last throw I got the big prize! Then proceeded to carry him around for like two miles, happy as a nerd can be. 😅 Got a lot of smiles from others along the way, too, hehehe!

Me, an adult (I swear) on the boardwalk at the beach, hugging a Sonic plushie about half my height, smiling in victory. XD

Art Fight attack for MandyX33 ( artfight.net/~MandyX33 ), featuring their character, Shadow the Hedgehog (Older AU)! #Art #ArtFight #TeamMystery #SonicOC #SonicArtists #ShadowTheHedgehog #AU

An Art Fight attack featuring an older version of Shadow the Hedgehog, a character inspired by MandyX33. Shadow has a very disgruntled look on his face, one arm crossed over the other and a finger pressed to his temple. He's most likely watching his assigned GUN recruits doing something stupid, and is probably going to give them hell for it. Lovingly. Clean lines with solid colors, limited shading. Simple dark purple-red-'ish gradient background and contact shadow.

I had to say goodbye to Bandicoot last night. 💔 What we thought was pancreatitis turned out to be an aggressive cancer that had already spread. Nothing had shown up during his exam 6 months ago, and he was so happy and healthy until last week. I stayed with him the entire time, and love him SO much

An Art Fight attack featuring Curia, a character created and owned by BunnyBunzo. Curia is a 2-year old zombie child who is an adorable bean and must be protected at all costs. She is featured in a cute, toddler-esque pose and a bright smile. She is light pink with darker pink antenna and a pink radioactive glow, wearing sparkly silver shoes and a pastel blue/white/yellow/pink dress with bows. She also has a few cuts, bites, and wounds, but is very innocent, yes.

Soko's got a birthday coming up on July 7th! 🥳 He was 28 when he first met Shadic and their story started. I've since aged them up a bit for "present" time. The boy is officially 31. Sharing this juuust a smidge early so I can update his Art Fight references. 🤭 #Art #Soko #SonicOC #SonicArtists

Soko the Hedgehog, a Sonic the Hedgehog fan character, in a crouched pose. He's looking up and to the side with a not-very-impressed look on his face, one elbow resting on a knee and the other hand bracing on the ground. Soko is mostly green with red markings on his lower arms and legs, with three red rings around his quill tips, honey-colored muzzle, ears, and eyelids, dark blue eyes, dark boots, and white gloves, with three tan scars on his right arm. Clean lines with solid colors, no shading. Simple beige gradient background and ground contact shadow.

Every few years I do an emissions test. Every few years I giggle at the irony of the long line of idling cars at the kiosk. XD I did get to help out a group of nice ladies who had never used the kiosk before. They were so sweet and it was nice to make their day a little easier! ❤️

Line of cars waiting for their turn at the emissions self-test kiosk. I'm probably 8th or 9th in line, took a good 40 minutes to get through it.

Medium sized parking lot with plenty of green trees to look at. Fluffy clouds and a hazy sky.

Crash and Bandicoot, two cat brothers, lounging in front of a sliding glass door in the sun. Bandicoot (left) is brown, white, and black, with his head up and barely opened eyes looking at the camera. Crash (right) is mostly white with some orange, and thoroughly conked out.

Show off your OC's old design and current design. The very earliest drawing I have versus the most recent. 🤭 Shadic has been with me since I was a kid. We've both grown up and been through changes together! #Art #Shadic #SonicOC #SonicArtists

Very old, possibly first ever drawings of Shadic, circa 2003. Various poses and actions, with a larger full-body image on the side. Colored in with gel pens and silver marker on printer paper. I think this was the only time she had a blue muzzle.

Happy to say that I found the original since this first shared!

Recent art from 2026 featuring Shadic the Hedgehog, a Sonic the Hedgehog fan character, making a typical Sonic-styled mid-air action pose. Six long quills fan out behind her, one fist raised and other hand held out behind her, a smile on her face. She is silver with blue markings.

Solid colors and clean lines, no shading.

052

Janelle @desboroughdesigns.com · 05/04/2026

6: Most annoying character. King Bohan and his generals. "Annoying" might not be the right word, but I found all of them to be irritating, creepy, and hate-worthy in exactly the right way for villians. 💔

001

Janelle @desboroughdesigns.com · 05/04/2026

5: Game character you feel you are most like. Probably Silver. :3 I'm a little silly, a lover of plants, and generally just want to be gentle and helpful. But also very protective and would throw cars at the enemy with my mind if I could.

000

Janelle @desboroughdesigns.com · 05/04/2026

4: Your guilty pleasure game. Amplitude is the one random game that I can and will boot up when I just need my brain to chill TF out. Which is quite fitting considering the theme of the game. XD

020

Janelle @desboroughdesigns.com · 05/04/2026

3: A game that is underrated. I feel like those who have played "Kena: Bridge of Spirits" generally loved it. But those people seem few and far between. Maybe that will change with a sequel in the horizon! :D

000

Janelle @desboroughdesigns.com · 05/04/2026

2: Your favorite character. Okay, this one's more obvious. 😅 Sonic will always be my favorite!

New book day - featuring cats! 😆 Starting "Heir" by Sabaa Tahir. No back cover description, so the inside flap text is included on the alt. #BookSky 💙📚 #NowReading

An orphan.
An outcast.
A prince.

And a killer who will bring an empire to its knees.

Growing up in the Kegari slums, AIZ has seen her share of suffering. An old tragedy fuels her need for vengeance, but it is love of her people that propels her. Until one hotheaded mistake lands her in an inescapable prison, where the embers of her wrath ignite.

Banished from her people for an unforgivable crime, SIRSHA is a down-on-her-luck tracker who uses magic to trace her marks. Destitute, she agrees to hunt down a killer who has murdered children across the Martial Empire. All she has to do is carry out the job and get paid. But when a chance encounter leads to an unexpected attraction, Sirsha learns her mission might cost her far more than she's willing to give up.

QUIL is the crown prince of the Empire and nephew of a venerated empress, but he’s loath to take the throne when his aunt steps down. As the son of a reviled emperor, he, better than anyone, understands that power corrupts. When a vicious new enemy threatens the survival of the Empire, Quil must ask himself if he can rise above his tragic lineage and be the heir his people need.

Beloved storyteller Sabaa Tahir interweaves the lives of three young people as they grapple with power, treachery, love, and the devastating consequences of unchecked greed, on a journey that may cost them their lives―and their hearts. Literally.

Happy Holidays to you all! 🥰 Since 2014 I've made an annual holiday doodle. It started as a gag on my grandpa, who always judged cards based on price. So I made my own and put my logo where the barcode would be. 🤭 These are printed as postcards to be sent to friends and family. Here's yours! #Art

Time has really been getting away from me these past few weeks, but I finally got my holiday decorations up last night! Just before getting our first real snow of the year, too. 🥰

Living room decorated for the holidays. Bold blue lighting on the left fades into warm white lighting on the right. Tree on left has blue and warm white lights. The work-in-progress is progressing! 😊 This'll be fully shaded before I call it done. And I'm determined to finish it. XD I'm just slow and juggling many things. #Art #WIP #SonicOC #SonicArtists #SonicTheHedgehog #ShadicTheHedgehog

Shadic the Hedgehog, a Sonic fan character, having fun running through Green Forest (one of my favorite levels from "Sonic Adventure 2"). She isn't as fast as Sonic, so needs some help from a vine to navigate the half pipe paths. A few jungle plants dot the environment, with a tree trunk to the left and mossy-green wood ground curving in fore- and background, with a vine bridge overhead in the distance. Mostly dark shades of greens and browns in the background. Shadic is silver with blue markings, pale tan muzzle and inner ears. Camera view is low and tilted at 45 degrees, looking up at her as she runs with a wide open happy grin, showing pointy little teeth. Clean lines and solid colors, a work-in-progress that will eventually be shaded.
