Deryck @deryckoe.com · 12/03/2025Security plugins in WordPress won’t save a poorly maintained site. Weak passwords, outdated core/themes/plugins, and bad hosting are bigger risks than missing a firewall. Security starts with smart decisions, not just another plugin. 010
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 11/03/2025Slow queries can kill performance in WordPress. Optimize them with these steps: 🔹 Use WP_Query efficiently -no query_posts. 🔹 Add indexes to large db tables. 🔹 Use transients for caching freq queries. 🔹 Limit post revisions to reduce database bloat What’s your approach to optimizing queries? 020

Deryck @deryckoe.com · 28/02/2025I did a Youtube video with internal mic on the MacBook, and no thumbnail. It's not even my native language so I just did it, without thinking. I got 2 subscribers 😱. Perhaps, there is a lesson here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq5i...youtube.comUpgrading Laravel Installer and Installing Laravel 12 w/ Starter KitsYouTube video by Deryck Oñate Espinel 000
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 27/02/2025Developing WordPress plugins isn’t for the faint of heart—especially when migrating or transforming data in the DB. Once you ship, it’s out of your hands, and that’s the nerve-wracking part. You can’t predict every install, and if something breaks, fixing it isn’t always simple. 010
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 25/02/2025I made a quick video showing how my process to update to new Laravel installer was. Also installed Laravel 12 with Starter Kit (React). Nothing too fancy but would be great to get some feedback. Beside the constants "ehhh..." I think the result is acceptable. youtu.be/vq5iq-lBCw8youtu.beUpgrading Laravel Installer and Installing Laravel 12 w/ Starter KitsYouTube video by Deryck Oñate Espinel 110

Deryck @deryckoe.com · 22/02/2025I spent big part of the day working on new features for Uptime Monitor Pro. So many things I want to add but I'm sticking to the roadmap. It's hard to not ged overwhelmed by the sense of urgency my brain try to add to all features. The productivity hack is to stick to the list, respect the order. 110
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 20/02/2025Thinking about how I can add more value to websites made with WordPress in Uptime Monitor Pro. Yes, I love WordPress (in case you did not noticed before 😂) as many of you do and would like to see that reflected in UMP. Open to ideas. 💡🤔 000
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 20/02/2025Hey Thomas. Congrats! I have a question. Hoping you can answer it. How do you attract traffic to a service like this one when it's new? I'm so curious about it. Thanks 🙏 110
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 20/02/2025Second issue: Some website were not working with Keyword Detection in the content because the Uptime Monitor were not detected as a Supported Browser. Deryck @deryckoe.com · 20/02/2025First issue: CloudFlare blocked requests from the Uptime Monitor. I had to put a Datacenter Proxy in the middle. I was ready to do it anyway because I needed to setup the foundation to have checks from multiple regions. I fixed the issue an now I'm ready for multiple regions. 000
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 20/02/2025Today I had the worst challenge since I started working on Uptime Monitor Pro. Cloudflare is blocking the monitor in some cases, for some websites. I already have a solution and I'm testing it thoroughly. I will give more info as soon as I finish the test. Deryck @deryckoe.com · 19/02/2025At least the last three blocks I created for WordPress are dynamic blocks using a shortcode to generate the output. That makes it compatible with all page builders automatically. Builder can use the shortcode or I can create a custom component for it. Is there a better approach? 010
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 19/02/2025The forgot password page now looks like login or register form. Thanks for the feedback. ✅ 000
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 18/02/2025Once you get used to long posts it gets really hard to post here sometimes. I usually have to write the long and the short version of the same post and not always succeed on that. 110
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 18/02/2025It’s hard but it’s necessary. It’s one way to improve what we are building and to improve ourselves too. It’s a constant learning process. In the end we want to succeed and we need them for that. 010
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 18/02/2025Thanks Justin. There’s a lot in the roadmap but I’m giving priority to first clients requests. More to come. 000
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 18/02/2025New feature rolled out for Uptime Monitor Pro. Now you can reset your uptime data, including incidents as well as certificates and domain validations. 010
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 18/02/2025I like your approach, without removing this one. You can have a global setting with forbidden words and then you can enable that check on the monitors you want. It's like an anti-hacking service. Something like that. 010
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 18/02/2025Yes, that's a great suggestion. I'll add it to the roadmap with high priority. I like it, a lot. Yes, as soon as the work appears, you will get a ping. Or the opposite, depending of what you choose. 100
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 18/02/2025Uptime Monitor Pro has his first customer. I can't describe how good does this feels. 050
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 18/02/2025Of course, you can track when the keyword is present or not in the url you are monitoring. This can be useful for detecting hacked websites whose content changes but the website remains online. Also, to make sure no one on a computer changed critical content on the page. Both cases happened to me. 100

Deryck @deryckoe.com · 12/02/2025It's impressive what you can achieve nowadays with jQuery. Plus, it comes by default with WordPress, so there's no problem getting started. Sometimes it's just not worth the hassle of adding a new framework. 130
Deryck @deryckoe.com · 12/02/2025I love and owe so much to WordPress, but I also love Laravel. The good thing is that they are so different, even in their possible applications, that there is no conflict at all. And yes, I am aware of Statamic. 000
