It may have kept him from dating storylines, but it's not fair to say they used Kyle to make him sexless. He was sexless before and Kyle fixed that. 110

Colour effects weren't as advanced back then, which is how we got shades of blue to represent black sometimes (and some odd skin tones for minority characters -- combined with racism, sometimes).
