Derek Faulkner @derekfaulkner.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

I know this is not a right place to ask but would you like to add me in your indie author starter pack ?

Derek Faulkner @derekfaulkner.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Ohh nice. But haven’t you ever had her professionally drawn?

Derek Faulkner @derekfaulkner.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Is Del the protagonist of your story?

Final update. The looking for an artist post was actually for me not a friend. I only said that to avoid scammers in my DMs. I've now hired one of the three artists I shortlisted, and they've already started working on my cover. I'll share updates with you all soon💜

One thing I noticed is that over 30 artists sent stolen or duplicate portfolios. I received the same portfolio from multiple people using different names. Some even sent obvious AI-generated work. It was honestly disappointing to see.

Here's a little update I received applications from over 40 artists and I've narrowed it down to 3 finalists. Now I just need to choose one of them. At the moment we're discussing pricing and a few final details before I make my decision

Well I'm not used to handling so many DMs at once. At the same time it's been a fun experience seeing so many talented artists. The only thing confusing me is that most first messages sound almost identical like they're copied from the same AI template. #writingcommunity help me please #amwriting

I had no idea I'd get such an amazing response to my Looking for an Artist post while I was away I'm so happy right now I'll share my DC with all of you. Please send me your portfolios there so I can take a proper look at each one and talk to everyone individually at my own pace. My DC: sunshine_234

Looking for an cover artist. The title of the book is BOUND BY BLOOD AND SHADOWS. This is my friend's first book and she's looking to have a cover illustrated. She's not very active on social media so I'm helping her find an artist on her behalf. #writingcommunity #bookcover #gamedev #artist #x

000

Derek Faulkner @derekfaulkner.bsky.social · 19/01/2026

Oh wow.... Did you draw these yourself or did you have someone else do them for you?

100

Derek Faulkner @derekfaulkner.bsky.social · 19/01/2026

Derek Faulkner @derekfaulkner.bsky.social · 16/01/2026

Strong session great job. How much have you written so far?

000

Derek Faulkner @derekfaulkner.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

3am + mystery word count = elite author behavior btw what are you writing nowadays ?

110

Derek Faulkner @derekfaulkner.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Well if that’s the case then you can work with my personal artist. She can do the work for you exactly the way you want since she’s a concept artist

000

Derek Faulkner @derekfaulkner.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Why haven’t you planned to get illustrations made yet? Is it that you don’t want them or you haven’t found a concept artist who can do this work?

100

Derek Faulkner @derekfaulkner.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

That's great btw who's the MC in this one ?
