I'm not sure why Dem Senate candidates -- @joshturek4iowa.bsky.social in Iowa, @sherrodbrownoh.bsky.social in Ohio -- bother to declare themselves against impeaching Trump if elected. Obviously, impeachment originates in the House, and if the House impeaches, senators must take up the case.

We don’t need DC politicians deciding how our elections are run. Iowans deserve a Secretary of State who stands up to these threats, and Paul Pate is refusing to do that.

I don't get to comment on @ryanlcooper.com 's Bsky posts, so I can't tell him that fertility and population decline were clearly foreseen in the Limits to Growth study of 1972: "The most probable result will be a rather sudden and uncontrollable decline in both population and industrial capacity."

Just took an automated phone survey (on our land line) by Public Policy Polling (Dem-affiliated) on the Miller-Meeks/Bohannan race. I am usually fairly averse to polling calls, not sure why I answered this one. I stood tall for Bohannan.

We've seen clips of protesters addressing lines of Guardsmen/women and Marines. Let's take the idea further. How about bullhorn teach-ins on the law and constitution regarding military's role, led by competent professionals (lawyers, ex-judges, elected officials)? Get good info to those soldiers.

I admire many of the journalists at ABC News, they have done good, hard-hitting work on the Trump circus. But now we have to wonder if they are pulling punches. Very sad. More evidence that corporate media are not guardians of the Fourth Estate. Corporate profits and prerogatives always come first.
