A woman works on a rope in the cabin of her boat. a woodburning fire burns in the corner and a lantern sways.

Good people of the fediverse, your opinion please. I'm making another chess board (this one a table!) and playing with color schemes. Any of these stand out, good or bad? I'm pretty sure I want a deep red/brown background. #chess #woodworking #askfedi

#bread! Just your basic mountain white bread. The new thing is that instead of proofing for 1-2 hours on the counter, I leave it in the fridge over night. I also did NOT work a ton of extra flour into the dough. The result is huge and fluffy, and has baby's first gas bubbles.

3rd time's the charm! I let this #challah proof for 3 hours, then kept it in the fridge for 12, and then let it warm up before baking. See the size difference! Finally got a rise. #bread

I made #bread! This is the first I'm not satisfied with. I used active dry yeast instead of the instant the recipe called for, and didn't add sufficient additional proofing time. As a result, the bread was *super* dense and didn't bake well. Lesson learned! Will […] [Original post on social.coop]

Rain, dirty streets, an infinite city that doesn't sleep. The best part about #NobodyWantsToDie is the world you see when you look out of your apartment. The setting reminds me of that #Asimov book, "The Caves of Steel", a city where generations of people never live to see the sky.
