Alexander Bohn-Elias @derbohn.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Bond did have some blockbuster-y issues. But it was light-footed, charming, varied, expressive, well-written, more open and a good representation of the character in story and play. This is just a drab Square, Square, Square, Triangle-Machine 010

Alexander Bohn-Elias @derbohn.bsky.social · 10/09/2026As far as I can tell after a few hours with it: in the least exciting way possible. It's just uninteresting, impossible to have a strong opinion on it. 010

Alexander Bohn-Elias @derbohn.bsky.social · 09/09/2026On Christmas Day '98, I played this for about 6 hrs on what must have been the final stretch of the game. Then my mom called me to dinner, and I switched off the console. I realized that I hadn't saved the game all day while my finger held the power button down. I never finished it since. 110

Alexander Bohn-Elias @derbohn.bsky.social · 09/09/2026I mean, I actually don't find the original to have a particularly strong or 'consistent' look, so I am fine with what they did here. But most of all I think people just love the idea of a remake because it's a window back into better, easier times. Life's shit right now. Let them have this. 100
Alexander Bohn-Elias @derbohn.bsky.social · 09/09/2026I hear you. But I think it's a good opportunity to make the game feel less flat. I think I saw some more interesting slight verticality in general exploration in there. I think it will feel freeing. 001

Alexander Bohn-Elias @derbohn.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Is this really a 'sum of its parts' read on games? When I hear this, I imagine someone appreciating the game for its visual artistry first and foremost. I think it's valid, even though I'd say 'game looks like shit but the mechanics rock/or the story's fantastic' is a way more common sentiment 110

We once seemed to have rules for this shit - that's gone, down the crapper these past few years, dragging us with it. 120
