For Chicago Bears fans, the idea of playoff football has started to feel more like a memory than an expectation. That feeling shifted when the Chicago Bears hired head coach Ben Johnson prior to the 2025 campaign.  During the first few weeks of training camp, that renewed sense of hope could have easily been mistaken for delusion. Then the results started pouring in, with the biggest win being Saturday’s wild-card game heart-stopping victory against the Green Bay Packers.

Following President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January, Evelyn Rodriguez, a social worker at a K-8 school on Chicago’s North Side, received a letter from one of her students. That student no longer attends school. No one in the community has seen or heard from this student or their family since.
