The only part of the house I'm gonna miss.

To be fair, she did help solidify the aesthetic for Adventure Time when she worked on the show.

I mean COME ON! He even has the gem like sphere on his forehead!

I always wondered if Rebecca based the original Pearl on Ziggy Stardust. That would make so much sense to me.

The songs are almost always solid, no doubt about that!

In saying that, I think the prettiness of the actual show feels rather sparce. It's like it keeps forgetting the potential of the shape language, defaulting to clunkiness. It can feel like an intermediate plate spinner. Even though the plates never fall, they do wobble from time to time.

I'm actually pretty torn myself. I think they both have their merits. And I think Pearl, as well as the style of the show tightens up quite nicely the further it goes. Regardless as to whether I think the Pilot will always stand on it's own, that's not to say the show itself can't be pretty as well.

100% agree!!! Like, I dig the sort of low-fi video gamey quality of the SHOWS score, but I think it ultimately results in kinda blending in with other shows that were doing sort of the same thing at the time.

And I understand that. Some things just cannot be made unless you cut costs. But GAH!!!

DenizenUnknown @denizenunknown.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

OF COURSE! Nothing against the music, and I still love a lot of the songs! Rebeca seldom misses there.

Then I heard the show was greenlit and saw the announcement pic............ I've never seen a vibe get so nerfed in my life.

I don't hate it either, but I'm sorry. There is close to NOTHING Rebecca Sugar in the show, visually. I was excited because her style was so fascinating to me. It had an elegant, ballet vibe to it that's hard to describe, and when the pilot finally dropped I was just like "YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!

I'll never stop wishing the rest of this series looked just like the pilot.

I'm gonna be that "get off my lawn" guy for a second. Teenagers suck. They're always in groups, always in front of you, and always in the widest barrier formations. I get that we were all THEM once, but MAN! stop having em, they're uncool and always in the way for half a second! DON'T LIKE!

Honestly just show me the wildlife on earth and it will get me to stop.

Had a dream that an Alien invasion was about to commence, but was negated by one of the pilots who was, at an earlier stage, given sheltere by a little girl after he crashed. By being shown by her how cool Polar Bears are, he knew he couldn't bring himself to destroy it's home.

Beards and Cereal are like, mortal enemies. No matter how careful you are, or curtain of never spilling a drop from the spoon, it's gonna fuckin' end up in your beard. SOMEHOW! It just teleports to your beard!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUa2... Got to meet the creator, Alice in Annecy. They're a wonderfully kind person who helped me get involved with a lot of heavy hitters working hard to get their visions made. They're not only a wonderful talented, but also someone who helps others to nurture theirs.
