Like why I gave Mara spiky hair for her Lumini form lol.

A wip image of Mara Fisher smiling at the viewer. She has spiky white hair with her cat ears protruding through it. She also has red eyes and is showing her freckles that she usually covers with makeup.

Reading the Kingdom Hearts manga series at the library may explain a few tiny things lol.

Image of the second volume of the Kingdom Hearts 2 manga. At the front is Sora and Roxas and on the sides are an ensemble of side characters that will be featured in the story such as Donald, Goofy, Namine, Axel, and so on.

On the bottom background, an image of hollow bastion from the game is used and at the top multiple figures with black cloaks are shown.

Image of Tetsuya Nomura's artwork for Sora as he appears in Kingdom Hearts 2. He is wearing mainly black with baggy pants and big shoes reminiscent of Mickey Mouse. He also has a spiky head of hair.

Not super accurate honestly for the 9 games that shaped me or whatever. For the most part only take the top 6 seriously lol.

Screenshot that has Demydot's 9 games that shaped who they are. From top left to bottom right in order (in a 3 by 3 grid):

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
Fallout New Vegas
Mother 3
Death of a Wish
Lucah: Born of a Dream
Deltarune
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
Cave Story+
Kingdom Hearts 2

She recommends that you don't take the list too seriously outside of the top 6.

An image of Mara and Jade in a starry reddish space background hugging each other under cloth. The sides of the cloth have the colors of the lgbt+ flag that represents them.

They both stare at each other lovingly.

I forgot to post this alt of Ari pouting. May post an updated version later with thicker linework out of curiosity. #oc #ocsky #MyriadVoyages

An image of Zaria "Ari" Fisher II pouting and looking off to the side. She's balancing a titanium bo staff on her shoulders and has a tube top and swim spats on.

Her nails are pink and she has shoulder length tentacle hair.

Tried experimenting with drawing Mara with thicker outlines and some color variation in some darker shadows and eye color. The second two images are me messing around with black shadows for some areas. #oc #webtoon #webcomic #ocsky #catgirl #MyriadVoyages

A drawing of Mara Fisher, by Demydot,
smiling and winking at the viewer. She has spiky white hair, cat ears, and dark brown skin. She is shown wearing a red sleeveless shirt with a pink triple elliptical symbol on her upper chest with a turtleneck that has a slight opening to reveal her neck. Her upper arms have tattoos that cover her arm's circumference aside from an opening on her bicep.

She uses her stretchy powers to wrap one arm around herself and the other arm has her hand wide open pressed to her chest. The latter is on top of the pink triple elliptical symbol.

The artwork depicts her with thicker outlines and saying "hee hee..."

The same drawing except without her makeup to cover her freckles.

The same drawing as the previous two. Except this one once again portrays her with makeup and shows how it would look with black cast shadows in certain areas.

The same drawing as the third image except with freckles.

A photo of the current vertical cover for Myriad Voyages. Mara Fisher and Jade Starfall are shown at the front. Zaria "Ari" Fisher II, Kris Fisher, and Aken Fisher are shown on the middle row. Ari has her staff unsheathed and is pointing it downward, Kris is using a capture spell and looking up, and Aken has a dagger out.

On the back row, Esther Emiko, Kitsu Fisher, and Quirrel Cauldron are shown. Esther has her starsaber out in front of her while the latter two characters are shown emerging out of a portal in opposite sides.

I'm working on a new height chart thing for the main cast with their redesigns but here's yet another Mara comparison. I think a leaned towards making colors more saturated in general! Plus she got shorter lol! Maybe I'll redraw the original pose! I should draw her stretching her limbs more!

An early design of Mara Fisher drawn in 2021! She is shown stretching her limbs and on the bottom right is a chibi version of Mara and Jade. Jade is shown holding her limbs with a slight smile on her face while Mara has a wide grin on her face with all of her detached limbs.

The top right is the original design for her bracelet with a short star sabre sword. It used to be yellow.

The piece overall has a more muted color scheme.

An image of Mara Fisher balancing on one leg and sticking her tongue out. In this image she has sharper shape language on her limbs and the colors are more saturated

If you read my comic you can probably visually see some design changes but there are about to be a few more once I get back to updating the comic a bit more! I'm actually in the process of making a new spread of the main cast (or at least the main family and Jade). Here's Ari!

A wip image of Zaria "Ari" Fisher II. She is shown to hold her titanium bo staff confidently while having her hand on her hip. Her big skirt is shorter to show of her legs a little more and her sandals are changed so that she's wearing chaco sandals.

And lastly here's two new portraits of Mara!

Mara smiles at the viewer while tilting her head upward. She has white spiky hair and pointy cat ears. This depiction has her freckles showing.

Same drawing as before but Mara has curlier, puffier dark hair with the exception of her eyebrows which remain white.

Hmm actually I'll just post it now! Here's a bunch of OCs I made for a grid collab for the Wheel of Webcomics server. (1/3) @setincement.bsky.social #webcomic #oc #ocsky #webtoon

Demydot's drawing of Areli. A brown-haired girl with red markings on her neck and face. She is shown to be looking down at the viewer with a smirk on her face.

Demydot's drawing of Billy. A little boy with light orange hair looking down happily at the viewer with both of his hands on his cheeks.

Demydot's drawing of Blackbell! They are shown to have their eyes completely covered in shadow by their hat as they look to the side.

Demydot's drawing of Dewbelly. A cat that looks worriedly at the viewer with differently colored eyes (light blue and yellow)

Made a version of her with her natural hair. First image is before she awakened her Lumini powers and the second one is what happens when she shifts her hair after it happened.

Esther's natural hair after she either gets temporarily depowered or if she shifts back to her natural hair briefly.

A recolor of Esther's (author is currently considering a rename for her last name) hair depicting her natural hair color.

Artists, show us how you draw Black women. I think this is mostly going to be me showing off Mara pics, but I do have more chars in the works. First one is how I'm going to be designing Mara's natural hair going forward. For now, she usually keeps her spiky white hair.

Mara's natural hairstyle before she became a Lumini. She can be seen smiling at the viewer with freckles shown on her face.

Mara and Jade wearing matching trousers while smiling at each other. Mara is shown winking at the taller and more muscular Jade.

Mara is shown stretching her hands to make a heart. The inside of the heart had a pink starry constellation as Mara sticks out her tongue and smiles at the viewer.

Messing around with blender to make an updated version of Ari's staff. It was a bit of a learning curve relearning this program lol. Messing with vertexes can get messy if you're not careful Seems to have translated well to CSP, though the grips are slightly different lengths lol.

A reference photo of Ari's titanium staff. The first one has two sharp points at the end for it to work more like a spear. In the image, demydot accidentally made the grip different lengths.

Maybe character designs and bgs? My pieces also tend to have a pretty varied use of colors so that's another possible strength! I also think that my character writing and dialogue seems to be pretty well received so far.

Hello, #portfolioday I'm Demydot and I currently work on a science-fantasy webcomic called Myriad Voyages. Its about two girls trying to become mercenaries while an interdimensional conspiracy slowly unfolds around them! I also do the occasional oc art and fanart!

Mara and Esther are shown drawing their star sabres against a night sky in the middle of the desert.

Fanart of Jett Asher from GLiTcH drawn by Demydot. Jett is shown sitting among a series of orange cubes

Ari spinning her staff around while using capture magic to spin water around herself.

She is shown doing this in a night sky with a bunch of mutated coral reefs repurposed for housing around her.

Zaria "Ari" Fisher II is shown spinning her staff around in the night sky of her home in Anastasia Island as she casts a water spell so that it revolves around her. The light of the water glows on her face, showing a confident smile peering through her tentacle hair.

A Capture Magic sign is shown lighting up from below as mutated coral reefs, filled with other residents in the island, surround her.

I've had Mara designed for a few years and this is the earliest image I have of her very, very initial design lol. She's changed a lot over the years! She even has multiple designs now!

Earliest design of Mara Fisher drawn in a sketchbook and inked in pen

Earliest iterations of Mara Fisher in the Myriad Voyages webcomic compared to the latest iteration showed in a comparison format.

Mara on the left before her Lumini powers manifested, showing she has curlier hair. On the right, there is an image of how she currently looks after her powers manifested in which her hair is shown to be white and spiky.

Latest unfinished iteration of a Mara Fisher redesign, left is her when she is younger with her spiky white hair after her powers fully manifested. On the right, she is shown to have more adult proportions due to being 18 in the narrative.
