painted commission for @demistasis.bsky.social of their OC eos! #art

a black-furred mammal of some indeterminate species floating in the sky. it has a decorated stomach of a scene including a garden and open blue sky descending into blues and purples with birdlike footprints atop it. its tail is that of the aquatic variety, much like a seal's, with ribbons and stars decorating it. it has a void-like head with only an eye visible. it is posed calmly with its left hand ( our right ) extended outwards.

I do typically tend to be very upfront on expectations (max of 6 months on a commission and wanting updates if the deadline for a piece of art ends up being pushed), unfortunately in some cases, not even being upfront and clear about my expectations is enough because some will look away from them

000

Demistasis @demistasis.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

Exactly! Even for surprise-me commissions, I kind of still expect to be told when the art won't be completed within an agreed deadline, but I can't even get that in some cases :( Sure, the type of commission involves no communication (WIPs and revisions) but there is still a minimum to uphold imo

110

Demistasis @demistasis.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

Oh, I do still have quite a lot of artists I love to commission and recommend! It's just years of getting scammed, ghosted, being given horrible customer service that's starting to get to me and it feels like it's more rampant today...but it might also be because I commission more than before :Oc

110

Demistasis @demistasis.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

Well in this situation I recently ran into, I kind of just rolled with the design they decided to draw but still asked for some changed I personally would rather restart the commission entirely if I drew the wrong design but that's also me wanting to make sure I give exactly what my clients want!

010

Demistasis @demistasis.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

thankfully most still do that! i've had some that don't and just send me the finished version though, i do commission skebs but i sometimes dont get the minimum of being told a commission would take longer than expected so it feels like im being treated like just a money bank

110

Demistasis @demistasis.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

is it me or is common courtesy when it comes to commissioning artists dead? some people don't communicate at all while others draw a completely different design and all they offer are minor adjustements it's kind of making me not want to commission anymore ngl as much as it pains me to say

It's why I put those kinds of rules in the servers I own when I can, otherwise people kind of treat posting their art as a competition which is...kinda dumb, isn't the point of art to be able to share it and appreciate the effort put into them? SOBS

☁️⛅I need help!!! I have a distressing amount of debt due to medical reasons and my commissions are Open to help cover my monthly bills. ko-fi.com/nimbosaur vgen.co/nimbosaur Any likes or shares are heavily appreciated _________________________ #comms #commissions #commissionsopen #adopts

Longer explanation: my sales on the months of june-september
tend to be lean months, but this year has been particularly bad.

I've had a lot of real life emergencies with my family and my own
health this year, including now emergency dental health procedure.

I am in debt, have an unfinished root canal, my energy has been abysmal due my chronic pain that has flared up from stress and i need help.

My adopts aren't covering it, so i am opening commissions and custom designs. if you can, check out my adoptables too.

Links to my ko-fi and v-gen below, but any share, like, donation or tip is really valued. I struggle asking for help, but this is really dire for me as I can't afford to sink in deeper into debt.
