I find it a baffling decision but, on the bright side, I'm loving that the main project I adapted to it now enters play mode immediately. Still, very scary if you don't know extremely well what you're doing and how to manage it in time 👀

I get it, I think people should be free to smoke (also legalize ganja) but that smokers should pay great attention not to annoy non-smokers with their smoke. Which I always did to a point that other smokers would often tease me about it 😅

had to go and check my review on goodreads and it's maybe the only (or one of very few) books that I gave one star to 😅

a harsh review of the Dark Matter book:
"By jove this was really bad.
The idea behind it could've been interesting, but the author delivers it blandly and with no depth, forgetting stuff along the way and showing in various occasions that he didn't understand the logic (I'm not even mentioning the scientific side) of his own concept; and the rest is even worse. The characters are dull, shallow and incoherent, the dialogues are bland and often silly. But the true horror is the writing style. It's bad on many sides, but what drove me crazy is that the author thinks that every period deserves a line break—or he was just using cheap tricks to fill more pages, which would be even more maddening. I mean, yeah, everything can work, even be powerful, if used well, but in the hands of a mediocre writer it just becomes embarrassingly obnoxious.
I know I sound pretty harsh, but this book really, really, annoyed me."

I made the mistake of reading the book years ago and it was the same: an interesting concept that the writer didn't seem to have a grasp on and just made a mess out of it. And the character writing was even worse. It was also written very badly, more like a script than— ahh, I see! 😅

smoke regulations/habits generally change when you move from east (more smoke) to west (less) in Europe. Like, you can smoke inside restaurants VS no way. Same for pollution. Funnily enough, in some eastern countries you couldn't smoke around schools way before that was prohibited in the west

oh, yes. And then Watchdogs Legion was waaay worse on that aspect, also because it tried to market(!) itself on being more political instead it was just more badly written corpo-vampirism of badly understood political movements reshaped as fashion trends in the game 😬

I'll admit that assigning the right unicode symbol to the logs of my main game managers is a lot of fun to me (yes, I know it's a waste of time, but also not: helps reading logs much faster 👀) (and yes: Unity's console supports almost all colored symbols) (and sure: I strip them away in builds)
