From April 12-15, iconic voices from art, design, and architecture will gather at Doha to explore the creative tensions between tradition and innovation, heritage and future!

We're honored to introduce @ibrahimmahama3 , whose transformative practice turns everyday materials into powerful archives of collective memory and tools for social regeneration.

Working with jute sacks, wood, and found objects, Mahama reveals the unseen narratives of labour, migration, and exchange that define our global condition. His collaborative approach – involving artisans, architects, technicians, and traders – embodies the very dialogues between East and West, past and present that AFT 2026 seeks to explore.

Beyond his artistic practice, Mahama is reshaping Africa's cultural landscape through founding the Savannah Centre for Contemporary Art, @redclay_studio , and @nkrumahvolini educational space in Ghana.
