What consequences are there when 5 year olds are shamed for wearing a sun dress? When someone who was assaulted is threatened with excommuncation for wanting to get justice? When a 10 year old child must publically apologize to the pastor's wife for seducing him? The church is the problem. 5/5

Is it sin when you can call your abuse "admonition" or "missing the mark" or "for all have fallen short of the glory of god"? To the average person, this "blame and shame, but then relief just by saying the magic words" appeals because it makes you feel better. To anyone who loves to abuse others, this is a ticket to freely abuse anyone they like. It's why abuse is so rampant, so ingrained, so constant in Christianity. 4/?

We blame the institution that "faith removes the consequences of and excuses all criminal activity in the eyes of the church". It's bull to say "we want them charged". He did this in full view of everyone coming down. He did this to children while their parents watched. To wives while their husbands watched. And when he actually assaulted someone who went to him for advice, I was forbidden to go and voice my complaints. I was 14, my sister was 10. 2/2

This right here. My sister and I used to run out the back of the church, in the snow without jackets to avoid the pastor who gave all women and little girls extra long, groping hugs. He stood outside the cloak room and you couldn't slip by. He shook the hands of the men and boys of course. 🤮 1/
