I expect over time COVID-19 will become a factor in most of our deaths, and yet world leaders are doing nothing to mitigate this. I'm done being angry about it though. I'm more bewildered that I (and you) can see this while most people can't. I'm not particularly anxious or smart. It's just sad.

When I comment in support of CA's billionaire tax, people who are either bought or bots come out of the woodwork to minimize the impact. It's a shame there's been virtually no public discussion of the benefits of prop 40. Instead we're 100% focused on how bad it would be to frighten the oligarchs.

FWIW, from a little surfing it sounds to me like Sheeran is a generally good guy who fucked up. Anti-brexit, pro Labour Party, publicly supported pro-LGBTQ policy in the U.S., supports Ukraine. I'd never heard of him before this mess but I'm glad the mess happened. The discussions were needed.

Talarico's interview with Kimmel has been seen 4.7 million times so far even though Trump's FCC wouldn't allow it to air. Trump called Talarico "Talafreako" in his speech at the republican convention. It was seen just ~2.5 million times on Fox, one of the few places to show the whole thing.
