I have acquired a floor loom and I finally have it warped! It came with no cables and I replaced cords and ties. My husband even made a crank! I used the only blog post I could find to learn how to direct warp. I went slowly and made many mistakes. Fortunately they were all fixable. I LOVE it!

JUST IN: The Census Bureau is ending its telework and remote-work agreements for unionized federal workers and requiring a full return to office for telework employees by April 21 and a return for remote employees within 60 days, according to emails shared with @npr.org

Fresh off the loom just in time for spring! Supposed to be thistles, but look like tulips.

I did it! I kicked my butt to get started on the next project. I was concerned that the pattern yard was not thick enough. I was right. But at least it’s enough of a difference. They are supposed to be thistles, but they look more like tulips. Oh, well.

As a fed married to a fed, I’m not ok these days. I’m struggling to find motivation to do anything outside of work. But I did just finish my next holiday table runner. No, it’s not Irish, but it’s green, so I’m using it for St Paddy’s Day. Hoping to get my next one warped soon, but again…struggle…

Next project underway. Wishing I picked a lighter blue as it’s not distinguishable from the green in this setting. Hoping it sines out a bit after it’s washed. Ah, still learning.

Finished my Valentine’s table runner. I decided to do holiday themed table runners to build up my skill. I definitely need help with the edges. 😜

We have had this conspiracy that the waste mgmt driver intentionally dumps the big front bin into the back of the truck in front of our house, leaving a mess of rubbish for us. Today we left out no bins for pick up.He still stopped in front of our house to dump the big bin into the back of the truck

I need one of these that says, “Just 2 more switchbacks.” This is what some well meaning hikers said on a hike in Colorado. It was definitely not “just two more switchbacks” and continues to be an inside joke between my husband and me on rugged hikes.

Oh, IKEA. How many ways can an order be screwed up? Staff placed our cabinet order in store as observed. Staff printed out the order because for some strange reason, what is entered in the software seems to magically change. We had to remove 7 of this item for which we only wanted one,

It just occurred to me that I can still use my whipped cream dispenser with an alternative sweetener. *duh* It’s the little things.

White mug of coffee with whipped cream on top in front of a window. Mug wording says, “Craft excellent coffee. Educate the curious. Champion the displaced.”

ICYMI: Some conservative groups are preparing for a chance to shape the 2030 census results — which are set to be used to redistribute congressional seats, Electoral College votes and federal funding — in case a GOP president returns to the White House in 2025 www.npr.org/2023/10/28/1...

Their playbook includes reviving a failed push for a citizenship question and other Trump-era moves that threaten the accuracy of the 2030 national head count. The plan also calls for aligning the mission of the government agency in charge of the next tally of the country's residents with "conservative principles." Many census watchers, including a former top Trump administration official, tell NPR they find this position particularly alarming. The policy proposals — led by The Heritage Foundation, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank — are part of a broader "Project 2025" plan for dismantling aspects of the U.S. government. "For too long, conservative presidents' agendas have been stymied by liberal bureaucrats who put their own agenda over that of the President, whom they serve," Paul Dans, a former Trump appointee who is Project 2025's director, claims in a statement.
