Was really hoping we'd find out if the Fairford Vans were full of dildos or not by now. Pretty frustrating. Going to presume they were until further evidence emerges.

Still really struck by Frank Gardner on BBC News this morning putting Russia in the frame for an operation at Fairford. It made not a lick of sense.

"I'm noticing a lot of bombs and bombers on the bomber base next door that is used to bomb Iran and I have some concerns." Next up an Counter Terrorism police officer looking around and asking: "Is this... a legitimate target under LOAC?"

At least one person killed by the Russian attack on Kyiv city center. This is the historical center of Kyiv. Theater of Opera and Ballet and the building of Kyiv National University are nearby. The air raid alert continues and danger for Kyiv remains.

"All road obstruction is exactly the same I am a very smart person do not question me because I cannot understand you. I cannot distinguish between the intent of different groups blocking different roads in different contexts of different events in different places at different times."
John Self poasting: "Incredible scenes in the quotes, from people who can’t conceive that I think the same way about it when people I agree with block roads as I do when people I disagree with do it. "

Unsurprisingly, if not intact, predictable. What remains to be seen is the nature of the attack, whether they managed to move manpads that far, or if it was more basic VBIED or mortars.

I don't want to just dunk on Bryant, who is new in post, but successive UK Govts have been profoundly complacent about the stability of NI even after several summers of rioting. That the Secretary of State is only coming to NI now is jaw dropping.

Dim Jim will be aping this one next so, now that he is introducing two-tier citizenship here in Ireland. Once you introduce the dual national/naturalized Irish distinction, you've opened a pandora's box of legal distinction. Why not tax them differently, punish them differently, deny services.

Nitpicking, but this is heavy fuel oil, a byproduct of refining - not crude oil. Iraq needs to get this out by whatever means (trucking w Hormuz closed-ish) to sustain refining at capacity, otherwise the lights go out and there are fuel riots. The difference is interesting albeit one for the nerds..
