Short of kerosene to modify summer-grade diesel and short of refining capacity to produce proper winter diesel (de-waxed) does look problematic. Hard to see how this idea is going anywhere - as with Red Diesel 1.0

Lots of kerosene (jet-fuel) spare right now.

Although Russia has problems with petrol (gasoline) stocks it has a bit of a surplus of summer-grade diesel: and winter is coming. It's not easy to store in the cold so now would be a good time to offload this.

No Russian diesel will enter the US - it produces more than it needs - and exports the surplus.

Minor point: US produces more diesel than it needs - it exports the surplus. Trump has no way of forcing US diesel refiners to sell diesel at a lower price than they get by exporting it. This is an attempt to get the world price of diesel down. It will have minimal effect - a drop in the ocean.

Try googling - Is red diesel available at US gas stations? Can truckers get it easily? gaspriceguy.substack.com/p/the-dyed-d...

The Dyed Diesel Waiver Has Catches Most Truckers Will Run Into
Earlier tonight, President Trump signed an executive order that temporarily allows tax-exempt dyed (red) diesel to be used on roads and highways.

Ukraine has definitely had an effect on the price of diesel, but I think that if Trump had wanted to blame Ukraine he would have done so - not being one to hold back. Claiming that Russia can change the world diesel price is almost saying that Ukraine has had no effect. Clearly nonsense.

Operating from this distance significantly increases flight times. During the initial phases of the campaign, B-1Bs launching directly from Ellsworth required an extraordinary 34-hour nonstop round-trip mission supported by multiple rounds of aerial refueling to strike targets in Iran.

Once they're back at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, the B-1B Lancers will be about 12,000 km (7,450 miles) away from Iran. This is nearly triple the distance of their forward-deployed location at RAF Fairford in the UK, which sits roughly 4,000 km (2,500 miles) from Iran.

Therefore, regardless of whether a person was born in London or holds a British passport, the Iranian state treats them exclusively as an Iranian national if they travel to Iran or deal with their authorities. He could be 3 generations UK born and still be dual national.

He is a joint UK-Iranian citizen. Under Article 989 of the Iranian Civil Code, the Iranian government considers any person born to an Iranian father, or anyone who has not formally gone through the highly restrictive state process to renounce their Iranian nationality, to be an Iranian citizen.

Pensions are not paid for by taxes or from NI contributions. They are a political choice.

Really enjoying feeling the love on this thread here for the neo-nazis. Far better use of funds to give it to corrupt Ukrainians rather than than do something useful with it in the EU.

The UKs missile defenses depend on the Type 45 destroyer's Aster anti-missile sytem. There are 6 Type 45s of which 2-3 are available at any one time.

If you know, you know. For anyone who doesn't know and is curious: the UK has maybe a day's worth of defence against ballistic missiles.

This term is rarely used in official legal texts today because entering or staying in France without papers is considered an administrative infraction rather than a criminal offense.

(the criminal offense of "illegal residency" was abolished in France in 2012 following European Court of Justice rulings). Today, "clandestin" is primarily used by right-wing politicians and specific media outlets to emphasize the unlawful or hidden nature of the migration.

Also, French law does not contain a provision allowing the country to act as a processing clearinghouse for a non-EU nation's intercepted migrants.

They are individuals facing an administrative violation, meaning French law guarantees them specific procedural rights, legal appeals, and case-by-case reviews before any deportation order can be executed.

Under French legal definitions, an étranger en situation irrégulière (undocumented migrant) is not a criminal subject to immediate, automated expulsion.

The English Version: Explicitly states that France "will ordinarily accept" migrants who are intercepted in the English Channel by British authorities and sent back to French shores. The French Version: Completely omits this specific passage.
