Ultimately, Bad Bunny’s impact is not just in what he says, but in the space he takes up. He represents a broader change in who gets to speak, in what language, and to whom. The question is no longer why he is using his platform this way, but why that visibility continues to feel disruptive #304sp26

If his work was simply entertainment, it would not provoke such strong reactions. Instead, the criticism exposes a deeper discomfort with shifting cultural power, specifically, with immigrants and Spanish-speaking communities occupying central space.

His message resists violence while still acknowledging injustice. This balance is precisely what makes it powerful, and difficult to dismiss. The backlash to his performances, including criticism from figures like Donald Trump, reveals that this is about more than music.

The issue is not comprehension, it is whose voice is prioritized, and who is expected to adapt. Also, his message has been pointed as “anti-American.” But he promotes the opposite of division. Rather than encouraging anger, he constantly calls for strength without hate. @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

Language becomes central to the backlash. People claim they “don’t understand”, but understanding has never been a requirement for global success. Instead, the issue comes from Spanish being centered on one of the biggest stages in the U.S. #304sp26 @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

By naming countries across the continent, Bad Bunny expands that definition. He reframes “America” as a collective space, not a single nation. This shift is subtle, but it directly confronts a limited perspective that excludes millions of people. #304sp26 @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

For many viewers, especially immigrants, the halftime show was not just entertainment. It was emotional validation, a reminder that we are seen and that we belong within the narrative of “America.” However, that sense of belonging challenges a dominant idea, that “America” only refers to the U.S.

The power begins with representation. Seeing someone who looks like us, speaks like us, and acknowledges our countries on a global stage creates more than pride, it creates recognition. #304sp26 @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

Why Bad Bunny and no one else? In a time marked by division and silence, his performance at the Super Bowl insists on visibility for people who are often ignored. The strong reactions show that representation is not neutral; it is powerful, and it can be threatening. @cfuchstv2.bsky.social #304sp26

Why Bad Bunny and no others? This video summarizes the answer. He's been an actively speaking up for those who can't or won't be seen/heard with no fear. www.tiktok.com/@reilly_eddy... #304sp26 @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

Seeing somebody that looks like us, that speak like us, MATTER. Having your country mentioned in live TV when everyone's been saying America as if it's the U.S. MATTER. Feeling represented, validated, seen, and heard MATTER. Bad Bunny's speech is NECESSARY! #304sp26 @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

Representation DOES matter, even more in a time when everything is hate and racial division. I came across this video of people reacting to the halftime show and I teared up because I felt the same way. www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8b5gLM2 #304sp26 @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

I think it's interesting that people against Bad Bunny say how "anti-american" he is. HOWEVER, the American continent is a lot of countries, America is not the U.S. Benito mentioning ALL American countries was important, his voice is important in this context #304sp26 @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8b5fP3Q The original post has been taken down, but that's the video I was referencing. By rewatching it, I thought how important it's that Bad Bunny spoke up because people say "America" as if there aren't more countries that are part of the continent.

Benito is never pushing people to hate, he's telling us to be strong, but to not respond with the same hate, because that just brings more violence. So, why shouldn't he promote this love message? Why is people trying to censor him? #304sp26 @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

While watching some videos, I came across one saying that Bad Bunny owed America (referring to the US) his fame and he shouldn't be hating towards the administration, pushing hate towards Benito. And that's the difference with his speech and others. #304sp26 @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

I think it's specially important that Bad Bunny gets to speak about our current political situation, because unlike other influencers he's telling people to love, and not to hate, so he's not promoting more violence, but he is not doing nothing either. #304sp26 @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

This also goes along with what Benito says about trusting yourself, and giving hope in a time where we've lost every bit of hope, and we're just surviving.

I found interesting to read this coming from Ricky Martin, a huge artist that kind of opened the path for latino artists. However, as he said, Bad Bunny was able to also be a big artist but staying true to his roots, not changing for acceptance. (Ricky had to sing in English to be accepted)

I want to point out what Ricky Martin said to Bad Bunny: "You won without changing the color of your voice. You won without erasing your roots. You won by staying true to Puerto Rico." www.forbes.com/sites/hannah... #304sp26 @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

I think the show was not only about puerto rican culture, but about latino culture overall. It was also directed to immigrants in this political context. It was unifying with the "Together We Are America", during a time that we're being divided for our race. #304sp26 @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

What did the halftime show meant? I read this breakdown of every symbol, and there were many details I missed. Probably it was intended to represent Puerto Rican culture, but me, as a peruvian in the US, felt every symbol significant. www.forbes.com/sites/hannah... #304sp26 @cfuchstv2.bsky.social

I also think it's important to point out that Benito didn't have the need to call out Trump or his administration directly. He did it with the symbolism used in his show, saying that what's going on is wrong. However, Trump did attack Benito and his show directly, even when he didn't say anything.

Benito's show didn't mean to entertain. There was message! I think more so because of how the scenario was set, people in the stadium couldn't see much. BUT he knew, this will show on TV for all of us, latinos immigrants, that were scared to be there. Every detail in the scenography screamed LATINO.

After reading that article, I could only think, why are conservatives so upset about the halftime show? I don't think is because of what they say that it wasn't fit for children, but because of the current political juncture. If it's in Spanish, is wrong, they didn't care about the message.

Why was Trump mad about Benito's show at the Super Bowl? I found this article and it made me think "who gets to speak?". Why is such a problem that his show was fully in Spanish? Why is it being called an "anti-american" show? What about it is wrong? #304sp26 www.esquire.com/entertainmen...

Bad Bunny was never afraid to speak out about immigration. Even after the threats, he dedicated most of his speech in the Grammys to this problem, doing it mostly in Spanish, BUT promoting to fight with love instead of hate. He doesn't want to see his people die. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GC91...

So I did some research, this article www.vanityfair.com/style/story/... says that Bad Bunny's team never said he was wearing a vest, but we're so afraid because people in protests are being killed, that we believed that a public figure that's been openly speaking, can be in danger. SCARY!! #304sp26

Was Bad Bunny Wearing a Bulletproof Vest at the 2026 Grammy Awards?
Bad Bunny made history at the 2026 Grammy Awards, yet what some corners of the internet are focused on is whether he was wearing a bulletproof vest—was he?

The past weeks I've seen videos talking about Bad Bunny wearing a bulletproof vest under his tuxedo for the Grammy Awards. This made me think in the current situation and the point we've reached that we believe blindly that a men that speaks up is afraid to be killed. @cfuchstv2.bsky.social #304sp26

The backlash over Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show demonstrate how threatening this visibility about immigration feels. Some say “keep politics out of entertainment,” but their reaction proves that his message is reshaping who gets to speak and about what. @cfuchstv2.bsky.social #304sp26
