hello! my cat is named Jumpshot. Could the colors be calico like her? her favorite foods are chicken with either beef, turkey, duck, or pumpkin as well as tuna with either beef, turkey or lamb. she likes kitty gogurt and lil crunchies, and her preferred crime is twist-tie tossing and chewing.

we were taught it like this in drama school when we were doing a stein opera first image from aadl.org/aa_news_1934... second from chronology.vassarspaces.net/1934-11-10-s...

There is no such thing as repetition, says Gertrude Stein, noted poetess, who said: "A rose is a rose is a rose."
Miss Stein, addressing an audience limited to 500 by her own request, Friday afternoon explained her conceptions of the psychology back of attempts by the individual to give verbal expression to thoughts and ideas. She spoke in Lydia Mendelssohn theater on the subject "Portraits and Repetition."
"I am inclined to believe that there is no such thing as repetition," she said. "The inevitable seeming repetition in human expression is not repetition, but insistence."
In writing, the process of remembering may confuse, she said, because it brings into action two elements of time. Thus she explained that she may endeavor to include in her portrait the essence of the subjects as he moved and lived, but not to include a resume of his past actions as she remembered them.

“Then also there is the important question of repetition and is there any such thing. Is there repetition or is there insistence. I am inclined to believe there is no such thing as repetition. And really how can there be…. Think about all the detective

Why do you write "claimed"? your own reporting in this piece states that she was removed from the league. It also states prior to that removal, a cis woman complained about competing against a trans player. You reported these as facts. Why can't you say they are facts here? i find it distasteful.

The family dynamics in this were the coolest part - watching Bata's relationships with her parents and siblings shift and change as she went through this dramatic year. The language also got beautifully heightened during the more magical scenes and that felt very good to read.

Finished this collection of Nero Wolfe's (by Rex Stout) first two mysteries. Both books got me at the end in ways that i felt used only evidence available to me but that required a wild leap that only nero wolfe could make.

Enjoyed some of this. A gay detective working in the 50s bay area queer scene solves the strange disappearance of a bookseller. I respect that the author is resisting a violent, sexual hardboiled style but I think the book lost a sense of danger - besides the excellently frightening reporter.
