The Hyde Amendment has denied abortion coverage to millions of low-income people for 50 years. It’s not just outdated—it’s unjust. The #EACHAct will put an end to this systemic barrier to care. Abortion is health care. Full stop.

This is an outrageous attack on the First Amendment. I am proud to see the major news outlets standing together to defend the right to a free press. www.cnn.com/2026/09/21/p...

I was honored to receive the Lifetime Reproductive Freedom Champion Award from @reproductivefreedomforall.org. Anti-choice extremists would love it if we stopped fighting—if we just let them ban abortion and strip away health care from millions. But we will never give them that satisfaction.

The nonpartisan CBO estimates this war has cost us tens of billions already and up to $3 billion each month it drags on. That money should be spent here, at home, where we need affordable health care, housing and energy.

Last night, the House passed a War Powers Resolution for a THIRD time – with even more support – to stop Donald Trump’s illegal war with Iran. The American people do not support this forever war that is only making us less safe and causing prices to skyrocket.

Happy to welcome Colorado Senate President James Coleman to my office in D.C. today. We’ve worked together for years on ways to make Denver even better, and I look forward to continuing our efforts.

RFK Jr. is giving a speech to his anti-vax buddies less than a week after a third person died from measles--a vaccine-preventable disease--this year. With everything happening under his watch, the biggest risk to public health is RFK Jr.

Good news—the Supreme Court just blocked Trump’s plan to interfere in the upcoming midterm election by silencing the voters who mail-in their ballots. The right to vote must be protected.

(1/2) I will never forget watching the news coverage of the deadly terror attack in New York from my office in Washington, D.C. When the Pentagon was struck, I remember seeing the smoke from my office window. Our nation changed forever 25 years ago, as terrorists tried to break us.

I’m sad to hear of Gloria Steinem’s passing. She was an inspiration to many people, including millions of women who were emboldened by her outspoken advocacy for equality and abortion rights. Gloria’s storied legacy will live on for generations to come.

Rep. Diana DeGette @degette.house.gov · 25/08/2026
(1/3) The Supreme Court just greenlit Trump’s effort to make it harder for citizens to vote by mail (something Trump does himself). Several states, including Colorado, allow citizens to vote by mail. In the 2024 election, over 90% of Colorado voters cast mail-in ballots. Free and fair elections

Donald Trump now wants to give masked ICE agents electric shock gloves. This is shameful! People have suffered enough from these violent ICE agents. This rogue agency must be abolished, not given more ways to hurt our neighbors and terrorize our communities.

(2/2) Just 19 months into Trump’s second term, nearly 8 out of 10 Americans feel the economy isn’t working for them. The illegal war and billionaire handouts must end.
050

Today, we passed another War Powers Resolution to end Donald Trump’s illegal war in Iran. This reckless war of choice has made life in America less affordable and less safe. Only 4 Republicans voted with us. The rest voted for more forever wars and higher prices.

Rep. Diana DeGette @degette.house.gov · 23/07/2026

Rep. Diana DeGette @degette.house.gov · 22/07/2026
I just voted NO on the annual defense spending bill. The bill allocates $1.15 trillion of our taxpayer dollars to continue paying for Trump’s illegal war. As costs skyrocket here at home, House Republicans are choosing to leave America behind and bankroll more forever wars.

(2/2) And he boasted about lowering health care prices, after he and his GOP allies kicked tens of millions of Americans off their health insurance. It’s no wonder he is solely focused on jamming his anti-democratic voting bill through Congress as quickly as possible. How pathetic.
