In lieu of scribed or brushed art, I bring you 4 composition studies with alt text desc. of our resident Lover Bover. #art #composition #prose

A very closeup face of a cat, focused on the eyes at the top third, nose taking up the bottom half. What happens in these eyes?!

Here we see a thirsty querant cat in a watered environment indicating with stage left ear a possible remedy in faucet form.

A fuzzily focused framing forcing the nose into center stage, splitting wide eyes and leaving but a whispy triagle to remind us of elegant ears.

Wonderment at rest, whiskers ears and even some connection to body reveals there's more cat to be contemplated.

We all must fight the internal vulnerability of bias and persuasion. "Mental virus" is a museum descriptor for how we get infected. Gotta pick our friends well, and I appreciate we are both members of the anti-viral pack!

The origin of the painting started with this photo I took of a plicata-style bearded iris cultivar; then zoom, crop and rotate!

A blue plicata-style iris picture screenshot to show it was taken back in April of 2021.

A zoomed in, cropped and rotated picture of the same iris so you can see why I turned it into a canyon.

A 25cm diameter round abstract watercolor painting propped against wood planks. The composition features a pale, mottled rainbow wash background spanning from purple/blue at the top edge to pink and red at the bottom edge. Angled geometric almost 3D cubbies overlay this background leaving a central vertical gap that creates a vanishing point towards the top right revealing the background. The geometric bars contain textured hash marks and share the background color gradient. White paint splatters cover the bars but not the gaps.

A 15x13cm abstract watercolor painting. A warm gritty background in pink, tangerine, and pumpkin. A large, organic form dominates the center, split into three distinct stacked sections. The top section is a rounded, dark maroon oval. The middle section features broad, curving planes of deep red, crimson, and murky brown stretching to the left and right. The bottom section anchors the form with two thick, angled extensions in dark indigo and blue-violet, showing small pools of bright red at the base. The entire central shape contains prominent watercolor granulation and dark speckles, creating a dense, earthy texture against the lighter background.
