This is amazing, can I use this in my video with credit to you? Thank you!

Defunctland @defunctland.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Interesting, I've never seen these. I know the theater stayed until like 98 and was used for some CM training, but never saw it listed as possible reuse for Innoventions. Thanks for this!

I would also be surprised if they were there as late as 1996. If I had to guess, it would be late 1993, early 1994 that they are removed or closed off. Mid-1992 there is someone reporting on the kiosks in detail, and an interview I conducted estimated 93-94 for those terminals.

Does anyone have ANY information on this. Do you remember doing or seeing the Person of the Century poll, and if you do, do you remember when your trip was. Every confirmation of a Person of the Century poll between March of 1991 and 1996 will help greatly. Any other information is also appreciated.

The Future Choice Theater definitely closed in March of 1991, and many people list the Person of the Century terminals as closing at the same time. I am almost certain this is not the case. I have blogs from the late 1990s stating that the World News Center closed in either Spring or Fall of 1996.

The Electronic Forum had three elements in 1990. The Future Choice Theater (the EPCOT Poll with the buttons in the arm rests), the World News Center (TV banks showing news) and the Person of the Century terminals.

Have been researching a very specific EPCOT Center attraction and am resorting to shouting into the ether for help. So please ignore this if you don't know or care about EPCOT Center. But if you do...

And you can't stop it because it's from a different email every time and it's always phrased slightly differently, so you'll spend a full day writing and editing and at 11:00 pm you get an email that says "You're not good at what you do," and you just delete it and go to bed.

There is a common form email that gets sent to YouTubers that goes "Hey! I found your channel and I figured out the problem. You're bad at making videos. Hire me to help!" and I get them basically once a day and even though I know it's a bot, it's like, hey thanks.

It was once an ambitious "sequel park," a theme park designed to be visited only later in the day. Now, it's been abandoned for three times longer than it operated. Watch The Abandoning of Celebration City now on Defunctland!

This is the biggest project (in terms of production, not runtime) that we've done yet, and we are grateful to anyone that will consider helping us in our search for more birthday media. Thank you and take care!

I first did a call for birthday media a few years ago. I initially envisioned this as a short video, but the submissions were some of the most beautiful, touching, funny, and human artifacts I had ever seen, and I knew it had to be something more to do this justice.

The short: Email your photos/videos to birthdays@defunctland.com The long (but also necessary): Go to defunctland.com/birthdays for all of the details!

For years, I have been working on a documentary project about the history of children's birthdays, and I am again putting out a call to anyone willing to share photos and videos from their childhood birthday for us to possibly use in the film. More details below!

I attended one of the preview screenings, and having watched it again on YouTube (on my TV), it's surreal seeing footage I've only seen in compressed, poor quality in high definition. I hope Disney and other companies with archives think of more ways to get this historic media out there like this.

The new Disneyland Handcrafted documentary might be my favorite thing that Disney (or any other big studio) has done with their archival material. Leslie Iwerks used a ton of restraint and the film is really well constructed. I hope they release it on physical media. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtrV...
