lilica @deerskin.bsky.social · 20/12/2024wasnt expecting to like love lies bleeding as much as i did. so much hornier than i thought it'd be, lots of gross textural details too. always a relief when you can tell a story about queer people is completely unconcerned with Positive Rep. 020

lilica @deerskin.bsky.social · 14/12/2024its like everyone is determined to play in the most boring way imaginable. where is the DRAMA, the BACKSTABBING. even the actual desire to have only good players remain in the show....its simply bad tv to have two of the better players eliminated first because of bad luck and weaker players' fears. 000

lilica @deerskin.bsky.social · 08/12/2024tbf i havent read the novel so this aspect of it may not be as important as i think. there's obviously gonna be lots going on in a 1000+ page book! but if by necessity you have to streamline the narrative then centering this is such an obvious way to immediately get at the required level of pathos 020
lilica @deerskin.bsky.social · 08/12/2024i just think its a missed opportunity, when adapting a story about a guy who wants to avenge himself but in the process accidentally becomes genuinely attached to the young adult children of the men whose lives he's planning to destroy, to barely spend any time on those relationships at all 020
lilica @deerskin.bsky.social · 08/12/2024that said, it did make me very interested in finally reading the book (my only prior exposure to this narrative is the ornate anime adaptation gankutsuou which takes obvious liberties with the source) AND i cant stop listening to the ost so. must have accomplished its job successfully enough. 120
lilica @deerskin.bsky.social · 08/12/2024that new count of monte cristo movie some of my euro oomfs on tumblr are posting about is just fine. mostly made me yearn for when films like this (sweeping historical adventure epics) didn't feel like such rare occurrences. 130
