Today I received these instruments from the Carpathians, made from local hornbeam wood! 🇺🇦🌲 This is the sopilka - an ancient Ukrainian folk wind instrument, and one of the main instruments featured in my new single #IvanBohdan (The Legend of the First Ukrainian in America)!

Outside, the streets are filled with the symphony of generators, while the autumn weather makes the whole atmosphere feel even more melancholic. Despite everything that’s happening, life goes on. Today is Thursday, so don’t forget to have a coffee with cinnamon! Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Over the past 3 days, the power outages in Kyiv have become more and more frequent. Last night, I woke up again to the sound of russian drones flying overhead. I’m drinking my coffee in complete silence right now, trying to save mobile data.

This song tells the story of an old Ukrainian 🇺🇦 legend about #IvanBohdan - a man who, according to the legend, crossed the Atlantic more than 400 years ago and became part of the story of early America. But I didn't want to simply retell the legend...🔽

🙌🇺🇦🎸I spent almost 2 years bringing this old Ukrainian legend to life and turning it into a song! I wanted to combine the energy of punk rock with the sound of traditional Ukrainian instruments: bandura, sopilka, drymba, kolisna lira & trembita! And that’s how my new sound, Uke Punk, was born!
