A crowd flow/river crossing scheme must be approved before extra capacity is used. However, the S106 allows temporary or alternative measures for Phase 1. A new bridge is the councils' long-term preference, but it isn't a hard requirement to open Phase 1. They can always vote no to this though.

Forest don't have to build a new Trent footbridge for Phase 1. The planning conditions require: • 6m riverfront elevated walkway at the Trent End • Reopening the second Trent Bridge underpass • £500k+ for existing footpaths and travel provision. #NFFC

The article wants to celebrate non-monogamy but can only do so by standing on monogamy's head ('compulsory sacrifice'). Which means it hasn't actually escaped the binary at all, it's just flipped which side is superior. That's not a progressive take, it's fundamentally reductive. A bit lazy really.

I can see the flaws in Starmer. It's been disappointing in many ways, but I just don't get it right now. Two years in, a significant majority and this - what a mess Labour are in.
