new icons for my kids except in a world where they're happy and trauma doesn't weigh them down! I always love drawing head/bust shots~ [ #Castrella / #deesdoodles / #ocsky / #ocart ]

Illustration of Odin, with a real smile. No bandages, no scars, no blindness, no hair dye—a happy smile, a peace sign, a peony in her hair, and deep blue hair!

An illustration of Korin, believe it or not he's pretty happy, too. While he never inherited his signature scarf from his adoptive guardian, he still has his scar. He has his gloved hand up to his chin, looking like he's thinking but he's definitely not.

Nivian (left) and Pendra (right), dressed in their festival wear. Nivian wears a simple shirt and skirt combo with a sleeveless bolero and a cape over her right shoulder. Pendra wears a dogi with bandages over her chest, a feather pauldron, and some decorations on her horns and tail.

Happy Phoenix Festival, year 1230! Every year, the capital of Castrella celebrates the Migration of the Phoenixes with a fiery festival. The siblings are suited up for the event, but they don't particularly like it. They...don't do well with fire. [ #deesdoodles / #Castrella / #PhoenixFest1230 ]

Fullbodies of Korin and Odin respectively. Korin is dressed in a white suit with a red-orange gradient, a knitted scarf, and an over-the-shoulder coat with a red inner lining. Odin is dressed with her hair in double buns, feathers in her hair, and an outfit I really can't even describe, she just looks adorable. They are both kinda pissed they are even wearing these.

Note: The siblings lost their entire home and only family in a fire in the year of 1209, when they were 12 and 8 respectively. They have a lot of ingrained distaste and issues with fire and its celebration.

2nd reference done for Korin's Castrella design which was also minorly adjusted! Now 100% more FLUFFY because puppy. He and Odin work together to rebuild their home district that was destroyed in a fire. he can also barely read :) [ #deesdoodles / #Castrella / #ocsky / #ocartist ]

Reference for Korin Altair, a 33 year old Lesser Kindred (wolf). The notes read as follows:
Unnamed sword bc he thinks naming your weapon is stupid. Jewel on pommel is ripped from armband. His weapon is to scale.
Do not separate (the scarf from him). It was a gift from Micaiah, his guardian.
Stolen armband is under coat.
How does the coat stay on? Don't worry about it!
Fact: he has top fangies.
He actually has a lot of scars in a lot of places (namely back and hands.)
His face scar is from an accident 15 years ago.
He's ugly without his coat. Are you going to church or something??

Updated Odin's Castrella design and gave her a proper reference with notes! Very happy with the way this came out, I hope you guys enjoy her as much as I do hehe Just a bird running a reconstruction project with her dog brother, normal stuff~ [ #deesdoodles / #Castrella / #ocsky / #ocartist ]

A reference sheet of Odin Finch, a 29 year old Featherfolk, showing her normal outfit and her clothing beneath her coat. Notes say:
Earrings (shows off feather-shaped earrings)
No light reflection in eyes
Tail! Not very expressive.
Armband outside coat.
Wears a simple crossbody sling when carrying her weapon.
Guillotine is her sword. Do not touch her baby. It weighs 20lb / 9kg. It is to scale to her body on the sheet.
Never wears short sleeves.
Engraved pocket watch never leaves her. It was a gift from her Auntie, Micaiah.

Amelie Arias, a half-Kindred (squirrel) and half-Elvaari (elf). She stands confidently while winking at the camera with her purple eyes. Her blonde hair is short and braided like a headband. She wears a shawl around her upper arms clipped in front of her, a white labcoat tied around her waist, and a purple tube top with matching purple pants.
