This felt early 70's. I think the word "innocent" or 'innocence' was in the title. Starts out with schoolgirl, red hair, gets in trouble at school, parents send her to an asylum. She gets some rough sex at the asylum, but starts getting treated by a weird psychologist. White guy with a big fro.

If you can do more, like hire or recommend the guy for a better job, do it. You have more generational wealth that you think. Even if you haven't inherited a mint, you probably know more about money management tools simply from overhearing your white parents talking about investing. We can do more.

I don't blame these black women for getting fed up with being the consistent earner and caregiver for the family. I get it. It's not a generation of black men's fault, but I get that they are done. But they want black men with money knowing that it takes longer for black men to accumulate wealth.

Some of these men, after a lifetime of abuse by white business and criminal justice gave up, left, engaged in self destructive behaviors - all rational responses to trauma. And a black dude going to prison on a bullshit charge is Traumatic! It doesn't affect them less, and maybe affects them more.

Black women have had to be the stable breadwinner over the last two generations. Most of this is due to the systematic targeting of black men by cops & courts, resulting in black men getting paid shit and laid off first. Black women, earning even less, could at least count on steady work.

I'm going to be careful with this next part - it's about black women, a group I admire tremendously. When I don't know about a political candidate, I ask where black women with a bachelor's degree are leaning, and that's where I vote. I trust them more than about anyone else, as a large group.

Black people pay more interest on loans, more likely to be denied home-ownership - or live in an area where home prices do not rise with the rest of real estate. In short: they got less discretionary income that the whites. Everybody knows this.

Black people are rapidly catching up in education, with black women an extremely well educated demographic, but they still earn less - why? Black professionals are still establishing credibility, & will work harder for less money. And hiring one will keep the white employees from asking for raises.

This is interesting. I remember 1978 and the following years. The biggest difference is housing. You could get cheap rent then; you can't now. My rent barely went up this last year, but it went up 25% 2 years ago, 10% last year. Rent inflation is currently tiny, but I still pay $1500 for 1 bd/1bth
