Couldn't find the many photos of the goats around the solar panels quickly - but I can independently confirm: Goats + Solar = Great Time

One goat on a table in the woods while another half dozen are on fallen leaves around him. Some greenery on the trees in the background.

Pope Leo urges prayer for the conversion of those people inside and outside of the church who do not recognize the urgency of environmental care. Screenshot from @katharinehayhoe.com 's awesome newsletter.

"We must pray for the conversion of so many people, inside and out of the church, who still don't recognize the urgency of caring for our common home,” he said. “We see so many natural disasters in the world, nearly every day and in so many countries, that are in part caused by the excesses of being human, with our lifestyle." Leo also approved a new Mass "for the care of creation,” one of 49 Masses that priests can use when a need arises.

In the midst of the climate crisis, I think it's important to know our neighbors. May Apple (or American Mandrake) is one of these neighbors, offering some of the first fruit (all parts of the plant are toxic to humans) to the forest ecosystem and having some medicinal usage.

When we see intimidation being used, our call doesn't change and instead becomes more urgent; make changes locally for the future of all of Creation. From businesses, nonprofits, local governments, and more, we can mitigate the climate crisis despite pressure to stop.

Every morning my coffee starts brewing 10 minutes before I stir in this 15 year old miracle. I'm on carafe #3, but it's ol' reliable at this point. We won't go into the dark age of the homemade pour over my sibling still describes as 'the worst coffee of my life'.

These are all correct and speaking from experience, converting barren 'lawn' into biodiversity is hard, multi-year work. Starting with what you can and building up over time is great; little imperfect steps add up together to care for our native biodiversity and our common home.

Text reads "This is beekeeping prairieup.com" With a backdrop of purple echinacea, yellow coneflower, and a variety of other native flowering species with a car parking lot barely visible behind.

When I was younger, I thought I loved Star Trek because of space and starships. But I then realized, I loved it because of the vision of a better world and people who were willing to stand by their values in the most difficult of times. Service. Sacrifice. Compassion. Love.

A picture of Star Trek Captain Pike in his yellow command uniform. Text is overlaid on the bottom left of the image stating, "You're a Starfleet Captain. You believe in service, sacrifice, compassion.. And love. No. I'm not going to abandon the things that made me what I am because of a future... That contains an ending I hadn't foreseen for myself"

Some days I want to put a hat over my head and just tune out the world. It's okay for brief periods to renew, but the hat also obscures all the good in the world and all the ways we're able to help others and Creation as a whole.

The Muppets Christmas Carol serves as an annual reminder that the ultra wealthy require miraculous circumstances to become generous on their own. Charity and justice must be practiced together. Also life is a musical.

Earlier this week I experimentally built an eight foot section of a dead hedge. This is a technique for fencing that also provides habitat for the ecosystem. I'm nowhere near an expert on it, but it was quick, super cheap, and seems like it might be worthwhile on a larger scale. #deadhedge #ecocare

It may not seem like it, and it may not get a lot of conversation, but people are concerned as a whole about climate change. Now is a great time to get involved locally by looking for groups taking action in your area or considering starting one yourself. #ClimateChange #ProgressiveClergy
