Weird...wonder if edgelord politics and talent/staying power have an inverse relationship.

Last live video I saw of them, those venues are a little too upscale

That was soooo long ago I forgot. Like, almost as long as the amount of time since they made a good record.

As a lifelong fan of Saturday Night Live, I can only imagine the breadth of compromising photos that Shane Gillis has of Lorne Michaels. Dude has hosted like 53 times and was funny maybe once.

Character development is a helluva drug. What are you currently watching? I’m super into Slow Horses and Criminal Record, but would be fine expanding my horizons.

I keep starting a project, losing steam, and then changing course to something that is more interesting in that moment. I think that’s part of figuring out who you are…and if right now making 2-3 min long doom punk songs is me, I guess I gotta be ok with that.

“Criminal Record” is filling the gap left by “Slow Horses” not just dropping a full fucking season all at once. It turns out I might just be British…

I can see news stories in the very near future about how $5/gal is the new baseline, and we’re actually just fine with it stabilizing there. What do you think?

death_of_the_whale @deathofthewhale.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

I don’t think the margins are too thin.

I don’t know much about India, but guarantee that China will outplay the US. I think prices may come down a little, but the days of sub-$4 gas is over permanently.

Going to partially disagree with you, only because both can be true at the same time. Throw on a heaping helping of decades of collusion, subsidies, and opposing energy diversity, and you’ve got yourself quite a conundrum. The 5k check is a midterm gimmick and will do fuck all.

Yeah, but I feel there is a certain brand of stupid at publicly traded companies. “We couldn’t figure out how to make enough money charging 4 times what something costs, so I slashed 10% of our workforce and I’d like my enormous bonus now because look at the savings!”

I have a family member who touts the efficiency of the private sector, but was self-employed for the vast majority of their career. Dude, I’ve worked for large publicly traded companies…don’t tell me anything other than they make oodles of cash in spite of their idiocy through price gouging.
