The truth is, I woke up in the late afternoon and still can’t quite shake the aches from traveling. But weirdly, my baseline inflammation feels lower since getting to London. Maybe it’s the cooler weather, the air, the food…?

I still need to campus enroll on Friday, so technically I’m behind since I can’t attend seminar until that’s done. One professor has been an absolute angel about it; I’m still waiting to hear back from the other two. Hopefully my head isn’t on the chopping block, but I think I can recover from here.

The agent has sent my offer to the landlord, who is currently away, and said she’ll keep me updated. After the absolute ordeal I had with the last agent, I am no longer asking the London rental market for joy, only for mercy. I just want this housing search to end.

Today I mainly read my course material and ordered takeaway. I also viewed another flat and finished a workout, even though I woke up at noon. Am trying to get back into a routine while I also attempt to find a permanent residence and stay academically engaged. 😵‍💫

I found no Mamdani Palestinian-focused municipal strategy, dedicated Palestinian office, Palestinian cultural funding, anti-discrimination program, city effort targeting organizations financing West Bank settlements, or municipal initiative intended to stop military shipments connected to Israel.

There is currently an activist campaign called Break the Chain specifically organizing around military shipments through JFK, but I found no evidence that Mamdani's administration has adopted its proposed embargo. AND WHY NOT? As an American, I am endlessly frustrated.

Don’t substitute symbolic confrontations with Netanyahu or expressions of solidarity for the New York-based institutional and economic measures that can actually be pursued. And I’m not convinced Mamdani, however “good” a politician he may be, somehow fails to understand that distinction.

One of the things I talked about with a professor at my alma mater before I graduated was how badly universities are confusing students when it comes to AI. You have some professors saying absolutely no AI under any circumstances, while others are actively encouraging students to use it.
