I've seen a number of angsty fanworks about the idea that Geed's lifespan might be shorter than a regular Ultra due to him being an artificial lifeform, but arguably, the idea that he might live for hundreds of thousands of years like any other Ultra might be even scarier for him

Ibuki was clearly surprised when he got shocked by touching Pucchi, but he really didn't act like he'd been hurt at all. Probably due to his Ultra constitution, given that he seems to channel large amounts of electricity through his own body when he uses the teosium beam.

Also, the protagonist is both extremely relatable and deeply endearing to me. I know he's supposed to be a metaphor for immigrants struggling with culture shock, but it's kinda hard to watch him totally fail to understand human norms and not think "this is exactly what it feels like to have autism."

HOWEVER, I do have a theory that the reason this fight scene was such a disappointment is because they're trying to save their budget for stuff that'll come later. Assuming a kishōtenketsu plot structure, we're in the middle of act two, generally the part of the story with the lowest energy level.

Having just rewatched Teo ep7, I can see why it was so controversial. In my opinion the problem wasn't that the kaiju wasn't defeated, but the fact that the fight scene prior to that point was kinda ass. The surrounding plot was still really good, but that's not what most people are watching for.
