When Dean heard about a charming space rouge who could throw hands, he couldn't resist the opportunity to go a few rounds! Art by @galinn.bsky.social featuring @scifer.bsky.social!

On the left is a still shot from the first round of the match. Scifer leaps into the air in an attempt to strike Dean with an axe kick, while Dean sets up an attempt to parry the kick.

In the second round on the right, Dean uses his feline agility and speed to deliver a tornado roundhouse kick to his opponent, but Scifer's resolve and stone-like block prevent the attack from going any further than his forearm.

"What are we doing?" "A selfie! Come on, mate! Gotta get one for the thumbnail!" Jasper does not understand the intricacies of social media, but thankfully, that's Charlie's job anyway. Shoutout to @artiejag.bsky.social for this awesome piece of my characters!

Jasper Schoen is confused with Charlie Gatlin's insistence on this "selfie." Even so, if it puts more eyes on his flawless taekwondo technique and brings more students to the SOMA, he supposes that he could take a simple picture...

A stalemate can end up creating very cinematic moments between two martial artists! Thanks to @ArtsGalinn on Twitter for this amazing piece, featuring the awesome @taryncrimson.bsky.social!

As Taryn hops up to deliver a spinning hook kick, Dean slides back and blocks it with a high front kick, letting the thwack of the block echo throughout the training hall!

"Let's kick it, mate!" Using his natural avian agility and dexterity, Charlie Gatlin is able to put his mixed taekwondo and tang soo do training to good use! His kicks can come from any angle, so be sure to watch the skies! Art by the talented @vitalisrui.bsky.social, thanks again!

Dean's willing to give every match his all, no matter the opponent. Each spar is a learning opportunity, and sparring with a master like Rath is bound to dispense some wisdom! Art by Kenji_Blake on FA featuring @rectabdominis.bsky.social and his awesome karate dragon Rath!

After the bow, both fighters assume their stances. While Dean leans forward with an excited smile, Rath's stance is one of pure focused power. Dean attempts to use his lightning-fast cheetah speed to land a flying side kick, a low roundhouse, and a jumping hook kick, but the karate master is able to effortlessly block or dodge each one.

After letting Dean get the opening attacks, Rath final strikes back with a thunderous roundhouse kick to the jaw, stunning the young cheetah. With his opportunity wide open, the dragon peppers his opponent with a punishing salvo of side thrust kicks before knocking him off his balance with a low sweep, taking him down. As Dean lays splayed out on the tatami, he can feel his face heat up as Rath gently plants his leading foot on his cheek and strikes a pose. The round is over, but the idea that there is levels to the game that is martial arts is reinforced within the cheetah.

"A pleasure to make your company. What do you require my services for today?" From Merry Old England comes Edward Wolfe! Former Royal Marine, former MI6 Operative, and current butler to Dean Ellta! Despite being legally blind, nothing gets past this wolf! 🎨: @juliusb.bsky.social

On the left is Edward's karate gi. In addition to his military CQC training, he appreciates the structured and powerful art of karate, training with Dean almost every day at his home dojo. It keeps his skills sharp and his mind clear. Not many butlers get the chance to strike their employers as part of their job, but Edward certainly does.

On the right is Edward in his typical butler outfit. One of the rules in Dean's house is that shoes are not allowed past the foyer, in order to keep the floors absolutely spotless and prevent the grime of the outside world from being tracked in. As such, Edward wears a special pair of socks with rubber on the soles that keep his movements deathly silent. Combined with his infiltration skills, no one ever hears him coming or leaving; perfect for the steward of the home.

There is no place in the world that Jasper loves more than his beautiful home of Munich. He carries his pride of his hometown, state, and country with him everywhere he goes. Incredible art by the awesome @puptauri.bsky.social!

The beautiful orange glow of the sun sets in the southern heart of the Fatherland. Illuminated in its warm, radiant hue are distinctive Munich landmarks. To the left, the historic Frauenkirche cathedral and the modern BMW Welt stand as icons of Munich's past and future. To the right, the Olympiaturm in the heart of Olympiapark München pierces the growing night sky. In the center of it all is Jasper Schoen, standing tall over the home where is heart truly belongs.

It's a battle between Masters! Megumi heard from her student Renee that Dean's Sensei Luka was an exceptional martial artist and decided to see for herself. Now she can see where the cheetah's skill comes from! Shoutout to @juliusb.bsky.social and @aknight931 on Twitter for this birthday gift!

As a master of multiple martial arts disciplines, Luka is an extremely difficult fighter to isolate. He can flawlessly mix different styles together depending on the circumstances, and do it all with a smile on his face. He relishes the chance to fight a taekwondo master like Megumi, as it will show him his own flaws and provide some entertainment for the day.

Jasper showing Leon the proper way to execute a side thrust kick. No wasted motion, no overextention. Simple, glorious, efficient. Jasper will have Leon drill this kick 500 times once he is done demonstrating.

Before becoming a boxer, Henry practiced Taekwondo. The story behind it will be told later, but to Henry, it was the decision that saved his life. I drew this months ago, it's still one of my favorite Henry pieces. One day, I'll finish this picture by adding his teacher and martial arts brother. 🙂

Henry as a teenager recites the five tenets of Taekwondo - Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and Indomitable Spirit. There is a great emphasis on never abusing his Taekwondo training, as Henry vowed he would never bully another person ever again.

Playing through Shenmue for the first time was certainly an interesting experience, especially with four gremlins dragging me around Dobuita and the docks. Art by @crassir.bsky.social Shoutout to @taryncrimson.bsky.social, @aussieneon.bsky.social, @docvincel.bsky.social, and @retehi.bsky.social!

Trying to look for some sailors, finding the Mad Angels, dancing with Tom the racist hot dog vendor, and working a 9-5 at the docks was certainly fun, especially with these four egging me on.

Shoutout to:

Taryn, who would not stop dunking on me for accidently feeding the stray cat a piece of fried tofu.

Retehi, who demanded I spend all of my hard-earned Yen to feed his insatiable capsule toy addiction.

AussieNeon/Sidney, for eating all of the chocolate and caramel I bought and stuffed into my pockets at the Tomato Convenience Store in hopes that my gambling would pay off.

And Doc, for watching me attempt to run down the shipyard workers with my forklift.

Shenmue 2 soon...

"Come on, brother! Smile for the cameras!" "...you truly test my patience, Alaric." "Ach, and yet you still love me!" "...hmpf, unfortunately." Meet Ssgt Alaric Schoen, the younger, much more joyful brother of Jasper! Art by the awesome @JuliusB8 on Twitter!

Ssgt Alaric Schoen is a member of the GSG-9, Germany's premier counter-terrorist unit. Don't let his smile and jovial demeanor fool you. That merely hides the spirit of a deadly operative who would put his life on the line to protect his homeland from all threats, foreign and domestic. He prefers to be pointman, leading with either a riot shield or his beloved MP5 submachine gun. He carries with him the traditional Schoen spirit of perfection, but he sees himself as a team player who rises the tide for his unit.

He still prefers to listen to dubstep and EDM at unbearable levels, much to the chagrin of his teammates and Jasper.

-Ruby and her prized student Warren flew up from Australia to train with the others for a bit. Ruby is testing her kangaroo student's powerful kicks despite her shorter stature and his powerful legs.
