Since 2000, we’ve elected just three people to three or more terms, all for good reasons. We've voted out incumbents after a single term — including one of Measure E’s authors — also for good reasons. Three members of the current council are in their first terms.

Don't be fooled by Measure E. Term limits sound good, but a study covering all 50 states found that forcing out experienced lawmakers hands power to unelected staff and paid lobbyists. Laguna Beach voters should decide who serves, not an arbitrary rule.

If Prop 42 gets more yes votes than Prop 40, it could block the billionaire tax even if Prop 40 passes.
Google billionaire Sergey Brin gave
$122 million
this to the group behind Props 41 and 42. State filings show it.
JANUARY1, 2026
1.3 million
Prop 40 taxes billionaires who lived in California on this date. Prop 42 blocks new taxes starting on this same date.
Californians could lose Medi-Cal under Trump's cuts. Prop 40 sends 90 percent of its money to health care.
READ THE FINE PRINT
Prop 42 voids any measure on the same ballot that conflicts with it, if Prop 42 gets more yes votes.
California does not tax you today just for owning stocks or savings. Prop 40 mostly leaves retirement accounts alone.

Americans have voted by mail since Lincoln's reelection in 1864. Soldiers, seniors, disabled and rural voters have counted on it ever since. Trump calls it fraud, then uses it. Do not let him talk you out of your ballot.
You cannot hack a mail-in ballot.
You can't keep a mail-in ballot in line all day.
You can't tell a mail-in ballot the machines aren't working.
You can't send armed men to watch a mail-in ballot.
You can't erase a mail-in ballot with a power outage.
You can't lose a mail-in ballot.
You can track it like a package.
Trump has voted by mail himself. He knows it works.
Trump does not want to stop cheating. Trump wants to stop counting. "Find 11,780 votes..."
This is why Trump is so
DESPERATE to stop mail-in voting.
