Every May 9th will be celebrated as Piccolo Day.

There aren't really a lot of holidays in America, given that we're insane workaholics who allow our own leisure time to be mercilessly taxed, partitioned, and encroached upon by our jobs, for a number of reasons beyond most of our control. Moreover, there are especially few holidays to be found in the long calendar stretch between Easter and the 4th of July. Sometimes, all we can do is claim our own holidays, even something silly like this, to light up a little joy in our own lives in spite of society's insatiable demands for our labor and attention. Therefore, celebrate every May 9th as Piccolo Day.
