Lost the 7 to a bonk in BitS. But it's coming soon

DeadGuyDrives @deadguydrives.bsky.social · 03/01/2026

First PB of 2026! 8:08 in 1 Star, just need another 9 seconds off this to reach my 2026 goal. Shoutout time (7:39) is going to take some serious dedication, but that level of effort at least feels tangible after this run. Short runs are fun sometimes :)

Year 2 of streaming was awesome! Just reached 300 followers which means I more than doubled my audience, and had lots of game variety this year. Wouldn’t be able to keep it up if it weren’t for the awesome people who stop in and hang out each stream. Let’s keep going fast in 2026 :)

Also hit 300 followers tonight! Thanks for all the support everyone :)

3 and a half minute 120 star PB! 1:59:13->1:55:40. Tons of costly mistakes in this one, but the fact I pulled out this kind of run in spite of that tells me I have a lot more time save in me! This feels really good, 1:49 is closer than I realized. Do your stage RTA practice folks!

Little tiny PB, 1:59:19->1:59:13, and plenty of time save to work with still. This was just a no reset to keep the 120 muscles worked out, so I am glad it ended with some success!

We already took another second off! Make sure to stop in before I PB even more!

On Sunday I got a 5:19 SMB1 any% PB! Today is the last day I grind SMB1 for the Marihour grind; will I get the 5:15 before October ends? Come find out! www.twitch.tv/deadguydrives

020

DeadGuyDrives @deadguydrives.bsky.social · 16/10/2025

Slowly but surely getting a hang of this SMB1 run! 5:2X was the goal for the strats I started out with, and I achieved it with 5:27! Still need to push for consistent 5:1X for Marihour and I will need to upgrade strats for that. Only halfway through October so plenty of time to keep improving!

Honorable mention to the 17:12 I got an hour beforehand

16 star goal is completed! 16:41 in 16 star. This one felt ambitious to me going into the year, but as we got to SM64 league I realized it was much closer than expected. Super happy to get this done before I start Marihour prep. There’s more to achieve here but that’s for another time :)

The end of Super Mario 64, with my timer reading 16:41 and me really excited about it

17:38 in 16 star with no LBLJ! Second category I have PB’d in during league. Would love to trim some more time off this one or get my LBLJ PB lower. Knew this one was out there for me to get though so I’m glad I grabbed some points!

SM64 summer league is underway and I have gotten not one, but two 1 star PBs! I have more to squeeze out of this time, but it’s a great start! 9:55->9:05->8:25

DeadGuyDrives @deadguydrives.bsky.social · 28/07/2025

It was a small PB, but took some serious focus and golds upstairs to make it happen. This goes to show how much potential I have to shave even more time off. Just in time for summer league 😎

Another All Story Missions PB! Having lots of fun with SHAR, and much closer to sub 1:50 than I realized.

151

DeadGuyDrives @deadguydrives.bsky.social · 15/06/2025

2 runs and 2 weeks later, SHAR ASM down to 2:11! Had a couple multi minute mistakes still, so 2:0x and even sub 2 aren’t far off!

Hit a little follower milestone on Twitch. I don’t really worry about follower numbers, but seeing the 250 made me think about all the cool friends and gaming communities who have come into my life during the past year and change. Here’s to many more :)

DeadGuyDrove! Finished my first Simpson’s Hit and Run All Story Missions run. This is a long one, especially as a beginner, but I’m enjoying learning the tech and want to keep improving this. Learning the coin routing has been tough, but I’ll likely grind ILs a bit before another full run.

DeadGuyDrives @deadguydrives.bsky.social · 28/04/2025

A mini PB in 70 star, but I think the universe is teeing me up for the 54 skip. Been hard to get a solid run going upstairs, but we’re getting there.

DeadGuyDrives @deadguydrives.bsky.social · 20/04/2025

The 70 star “stretch” goal of a 55 is complete. First night of 70 star runs after getting sub 2 in 120. I missed a throw so 54 was right there, and tippy has been a nightmare on pace. 53 might be on the table. These goals are falling fast, might need to make some new ones soon lol

1121

DeadGuyDrives @deadguydrives.bsky.social · 14/04/2025

The goal I was most excited to complete, sub 2 hours in 120 star, has been finished. New PB of 1:59:26! I was 1:57 pace into BitS and had a death going for red 3. So I know there’s a lot more meat on the 120 bone. But the mental barrier of beating 2:00 is gone! Feeling good about Mario these days.

Month 2 of 2025 and one more goal off the list! With this 57:18 in 70 star, I have beaten the last of my emulator PBs. All of my best times are now on console. Going to stick with 70 for now, make the 55:xx happen and mark another category off my list.

Today marks 1 year since my first 120 star run. It was the category I most looked forward to running when I got started. Since that first run, I have switched to console and improved my time by almost 50 minutes. I haven’t PB’d this category since August, but I have plans for more in 2025 ❤️

Another MediEvil any% no DGS PB! Was over 7 minutes ahead before Haunted Ruins. That second level loop will be the death of me. I can definitely make sub 50 happen, just need the right run. Starting to learn All Chalices run now as well!

Sub hour MediEvil Any% No DGS woohoo!

DeadGuyDrives @deadguydrives.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

Currently in a tournament where we learn a new speedrun in 2 weeks then race another person. Just did my first full MediEvil (PS1) Any% no Dragon Gate skip runs! I’m the first participant to finish a run, which I’m proud of. Sub hour can happen before race day! Lots of tech to perfect in this run.

1 star goal complete! On day 1 of 2025 of all days! I still have time save so I plan to revisit this later in the year, but for now I’m feeling good getting one goal knocked out already 😎

Took a break from 120 segment RTA grind and did some 16. Got my first 17! Missed two throws so I know I can get a 17:3x or better next time. Might have to give BitS practice some love before my next runs. #pb #sm64 #speedrun
