Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 16mOh hey, looks like Pat Matthews' animation! 041
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 21mRight to the top of S tier you go! Will the later episodes top this? Only one way to find out. 010
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 22m"Treehouse Of Horror V" - DON'T MIND IF I DO! (S rank) I don't think there's any other Simpsons Halloween episode that'll top this. If I can recommend anyone wanting something comedic, yet horrifying for the Halloween season, this episode will be one of them. 250
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 11/10/2026Overture, curtains, lights This is it, the night of nights! I know if I was a child growing up with the show during Saturday, I'd have a blast of a morning eating my cereal watching some top cartoons (even though I'm a sucker of the pre-48 shorts) youtu.be/aFTTB6gOAJAyoutu.be"The Bugs Bunny Show" US TV series (1960--2000) intro [extended]YouTube video by Rick Davi 0287

Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Treehouse of Horror IV - a classic (S tier too) Where do we begin with this one? Homer selling a soul over an eaten donut, Bart going nuts over a gremlin destroying a school bus and fittingly Mr Burns being Dracula. Yeah, they'll my favourites, finding it hard to pick a specific one lol 1428
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Do I need to rank this episode? It's already going to be a top S tier! Like c'mon, you got the devil feeding Homer Simpson donuts and even he stop eating them. Fine, fine. Let me watch through this and give my overall thoughts. (also hope you like the new PFP and banner changes) 082
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 08/10/2026And here's the tier list so far - this is going right above the second one 030
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Treehouse of Horror III - each episode is topping one another. (S rank) Yeah, this is a banger - hard to pick a favourite segment as they're all great in their own way. Though if I did have to choose one, "Dial 'Z' for Zombies" is my pick - Homer killing zombie Flanders was the standout for me. 4184
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 06/10/2026A wish well wastedstatic.klipy.comMonkey Paw: Thumbs Up to Bad LuckAlt: One paw down from Homer's wish 010
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I will say I do prefer the transition scenes in the first one as the nightmares scene do break the flow of the episode as a whole. Other than that, really great stuff here. To the list you go! 010
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Treehouse of Horror II - definitely a fun episode, easy S rank for me Each segment was a blast: the Simpsons abusing a monkey's paw of wishes, Bart having a mind power and forcing everyone to obey him and Burns stealing Homer's brain to make a better worker only to end up as lazy as him. 381
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Let's continue the binge-watching. Didn't manage to do it throughout the weekend as I was out all night, but now that I'm free, let's see what the second one offers. 070
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Million Dollar Cat is a personal favourite of mine (up in my top 10) We finally get to see that mouse the medicine he deserved after treating Tom (though tbf, he started playing around with him at the beginning of the short) 111
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Well I did say I was going to rank them - if I'm daring, there are tier lists online where you can rank each segment of every episode which knowing me, I may do that as well 😛 110
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 02/10/2026A tier it goes. Definitely a great start to the series. 141
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I also enjoyed "Bad Dream House" too being this haunted house the Simpsons move where the house possesses the family to kill each other. I will say "The Raven" bit was the weakest of the three, but there's some great camera angles where Homer yells at the Raven. 131
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Treehouse Of Horror - overall, pretty good For being the first one and for an early Simpsons episode, really fun. My favourite segment is "Hungry are the Damned" where we get to meet Kang and Kodos for the first time where they just wanna provide comfort for the Simpsons with Lisa's skepticism. 2174
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 02/10/2026So it begins! Given there are over 30 episodes of the series, I would have to binge-watch a few at a time, but there's bound to be a gem hidden under each episode. 1537
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 01/10/2026This month, I'll be watching and ranking every Treehouse of Horror episode and give my thoughts on each one. There will be ones that I haven't seen in ages and some I haven't watched, mainly the first few and the modern ones, so this'll be a fun watch. Gonna get started tomorrow as I'm a bit tired. 2135
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 01/10/2026One more Don Williams' scene where his work shines working with Art Davis. The dry brush is really apparent here and his work starts to get loose as he animates Porky walking back and forth and talking seen in "Mouse Menace" 0187
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Time for Don William's work at WB. When he returned in 1946, he first worked with McKimson. Given he didn't want his cartoons to be "over-animated", the dry-brushes that Williams uses aren't apparent here, but his rigid, expressive traits are still here seen here in "Acrobatty Bunny" 0177
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Got a feeling he wanted another screwball character given how popular Daffy was. Given how people didn't like Jones' rabbit short at the time, given he tweaked up the rabbit's personality, he definitely saw some potential with the character and allow his top unit to have a go with this rabbit. 131
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Or even Eddie thinking Freleng should use his woodpecker character rather than Clampett's canary to pair with his red-nose feline. 151
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Time for this month's animator of the month which is Don Williams. Like Emery Hawkins, he moved across different studios in the West. His work is usually loose, but with a bit of rigidity with a good use of drybrush seen here in "The Beach Nut" as Wally Walrus chops down the hydrant Woody is in. 0287

Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Funny you say that, I'm planning to do the marathon at the start of October and rank them as I go. I'll see if I do consider V to be a close favourite of mine as much as everyone says. 010
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Yeah, it'll be interesting to check out the older ones as I haven't really grown up seeing them outside of clips here and there (I skipped past it during the marathon I did earlier this year cos I want to go through all of them next month) 010
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I should probably look into seeing which Treehouse Of Horror episode I truly enjoy. Currently, I stand at the XIV being my favourite as I enjoy all the segments here: Homer playing the Grim Reaper, Frink's father playing Franksetein and Bart using a stopwatch to freeze time. 370

Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Poor Tom - he was almost safe from the log falling on him. Excellently scene by Ken Muse here and Tom's facial expression when he gets hit on the head is excellent. Cartoon: "Little Quacker" ('50, Hanna-Barbera) 03313
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 19/09/2026I do wish Mel Blanc voiced the woodpecker more in these shorts. His wild, proto-Bugs acting of the bird is the reason why I still love his work before Kent Rodgers stepped in. 0184
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Just watching this short and The Cat Concerto, I still love the former, but still enjoy this. I dig the use of Die Fledermaus which fits the style of the series where tension rise between both characters fighting to conduct, but at the same time, the slapstick in Cat Concerto is a lot of fun. 1154

To any classic animation fan out there, this is definitely worth looking at once it comes out! 091

Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 07/09/2026Love this episode - honestly up there as my favourite episodes from the pre-Movie era of SpongeBob. I genuinely smiled hard when Squidward realised his band wasn't as bad as he thought and actually played a banger of a tune and one-upping Squilliam. If you haven't watched this episode, do watch it! 0144

Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Like McCabe's work gets overlooked, but watch one of his Daffy shorts and you're in for a treat. Same with Davis. His Daffy shorts are great, but his last few directed shorts with Dough Ray Meow, Bowery Bugs and Bye Bye Bluebeard are exceptional. 040
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 05/09/2026I personally agree with this. Every WB director had a selection of good and bad shorts, but they all had the intention to make the audience laugh. Even if some gags are misses in a short of theirs, you can still sit down and find some enjoyment out of them nonetheless. 272
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 04/09/2026With Road Runner shorts, it's hard to pick your favourite one as the ones you like are in different shorts. Honestly, the only two to me that stand out as having gags that top each other are Zoom and Bored and Stop! Look! And Hasten! 110
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 04/09/2026Indeed so and I guarantee there will be a clip I'd love to use that wasn't in the final cut that I should've used instead. Ah well, may as well get to work on it. Wish me luck trying to craft it. 110
Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 04/09/2026I've been struggling to make a compilation of my favourite Looney Tunes moments. Easiest parts is gathering the shorts, hardest part is knowing what to clip cos every second of great. I have almost 100 shorts though I will have to crop it down to 50, which that'll be another difficult chore to do. 280

Carl Stalling is a genius and his music choices are jokes in themselves 416443

Daily Dose of Classic Cartoons @ddofcartoons.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Solid Serenade turns 80 today. One of the most beloved T&J shorts out there. Though as I said before, Mike Lah steals the show here animating the best, sharpest scenes of the short (outside of Ken Muse animating Tom's iconic musical performance) 1176
