I live in downtown Mpls and these streets do not need more cars. No to AV’s and yes to improving public transit so it’s more frequent and more reliable, which will require more dedicated bus lanes and since we apparently can’t have those we at least need to not increase the number of cars.

Walking home from Open Streets, I witnessed a car crash into a motorcycle. Motorcyclist was alive but badly injured. Traumatic and preventable. Cars ruin cities and people.

Not only did I early vote yesterday, I also finally got my Real I.D. and the people in front of me in the DMV line were getting married needed witnesses so I got to be a wedding attendant! We made small talk while waiting and turns out they just moved here from my hometown in Ohio! VOTING IS MAGIC!!

Yes it’s unacceptable and dangerous that drivers’ inattention puts the burden on pedestrians. The amount of time I spend trying to make eye contact, waiting for them to turn their head right to notice me before I step into the crosswalk. Can’t wait for Waymo making even that impossible.
